  1. I can so relate!! I have my band pretty tight. I went from an 11CC to a 12CC and omg I cannot eat like before and one major thing that I know I must do is CHEW~! I noticed that like many of you, I can eat good one day and others maybe 2-3 bites. I am losing inches.. feels good to see the pants get loser and I noticed a total of 10lbs after having my band adjusted... Glad I am not alone on this.

  2. Sugargirl you just told my story... I was banded jan 2010 lost 40lbs got pregnant feb 2011 band was at 8cc in april had one cc removed baby was born oct 2011. After the baby was born I had a hard time due to breast feeding I couldn't have too much Protein it bothered the baby ( made him very gasy). I stopped breast feeding him at four months and started back on the high Protein and still wasn't losing. Doctor checked the band and everything is fine so now I'm back to 8cc they had me start using ground flex seed in my protein shakes i was doing the eas Protein Powder 1%milk and Peanut Butter so the also suggested instead of Peanut Butter I use PB2 ( it's a powered peanut butter with a lot less fat and calories u won't know the difference). I just started changing these few things this week but so far I lost 6lbs and for some reason this time around feels different like its actually going to work this time. Good luck I know it's tough (with kids) but we can do this... Jodi

Jodi, TYhanks for the tips! I am happy to say my diet is working now and planning to take yours too.. :)! Thanks so much!

  3. There's a lot of good info and support in this thread. I got my band in Feb 2009. As long as I followed the rules the band worked great. I gradually started eating things that I shouldn't eat, started drinking soft drinks, and snacking all the time. I ended up with a stretched pouch with inflammation of the banded area and a lot of heartburn. I had all my Fluid removed from my band in Nov 2011, and have been eating everything in sight! I've gained about 35 pounds since then and feel miserable. I'm going tomorrow, April 26, to start getting my fills again. I am excited, almost like I was when I was going in for my surgery. I hope and pray that I can stick to the rules this time and can be a successful bandster! Wish me luck and I'm sure I will be back on here looking for support and advice.

I am sure you will do great! Stay positvie!!! Just know we are with you!

  4. girl ive been on liquids since monday to and ive been good so far. i have a Protein shake for breakfast, for lunch i have a cup of campbells chicken Soup or creamy soup and its low on carbs and thats it and for dinner ill have another soup or Protein Shake. i work at night sometimes or all day so i just keep it simple. what have you been having lately??

Funny we are doing the same.. I am doing a Protein shake and soup. Keeping it simple as well. I just had a Potatoe soup which was great!

  5. 10cc in how large a band?? It is possible your pouch stretched a little, happens all the time from overuse, eating.

When I begin to feel that I'm eating more than usual, I go on liquids for about 2 days to give it a rest.

People call this the 5 Day Pouch Test. You can google it.

Hi B-52.. My band is a 12CC band. I will try the 5 day pouch test

  6. Hi guys, I just joined yesterday looking for help and support. I have had my band for almost 3 years. In the beginning I make have only lost about 10-15lbs. I am soo confused to whats going on with me. I have a 12cc band, and I am at 8.5cc. I have not found my green zone at all. I am lost on what I should do. I had my last fill in January 2012, my Dr. also checked for any problems, I had none. The worst part of it all he said the band may simply not be for me. I hope not, I really want and need this to work. Any advice, I am open to anything. Please help :-(

I can so relate to you... I was told the ssame and feeling the same...

  7. I think I would consider making another appointment with your surgeon. how long has it been since you had a fill? It could be that some of the Fluid you have has evaporated.

It has been 3 months now. I have an appointment with my surgeon next week so I am hoping he can look into what is happening. I have felt some port pain more like uncomfort but not often. So I am hoping all goes well on Thursday when I see him.

  8. Pebbles the good thing is that you found the problem and can start over now. I am seeing my surgeon next week so they can check my band and make sure everything is ok... I can imagine that with everything pushing up while pregnant there could be a problem with the band. Stay postive and know that before you had the new one put in you had a problem which was not allowing your band to work properly.. Good luck and I am cheering for you!@

  9. Hello Everyone!

So, I got the band in August 2010 lost 30lbs and then suprisingly got pregnant in November 2010. My daughter was born in July 2011 and I gained 40 lbs during my pregnancy. I have lost 20 so far. I had my 12CC band at 7cc while pregnant and did not feel any restrictions while pregnant. Immediately after the baby I felt the restrictions again.I then went back in September 2011 and got another fill which my band was now at 9cc. I lost if anything 8lbs and did not feel restricted so, I went back February 2012 and got another fill my Doctor said it was the max and he could not do another one. So, here I am almost 3 months and I gain 2lbs and lose 2lbs. I am pretty much not losing anything. I can't eat as much because I have days that I feel restricted and days I don't but will feel an uncomfortable feeling after I eat. I am getting my Protein and staying under 1200 calories (I have my fitness plan). Last month I was doing bootcamp and again no weight loss. Has anyone had that problem before? How can I start over? The worst part is that I have days when I feel depress.... My Doctor gave me the option to have a gastro by pass but my company health insurance only covers one biatric surgery for life. Need help and motivation! What do I do?

  10. Thanks everyone.. I have to agree with you Jean that is the reason I am really trying to stay motivated.. I want to be able to lost the weight and be active for my daughter who in no time will be running and wanting to do more. I am doing this one more time but will see my dr to check for any slip or problems that my band may have,.

I have days I feel restricted and other days that I don't... Thanks everyone who has reply, Hope to hear more stories related to mine.

  11. I am starting over! I got my band in August 2010 and 4 months later I got pregnant. I have a 10CC band and had 7cc when I was pregnant. Never removed any Fluid and felt I was able to eat just anything when I was pregnant with no restrictions. I had lost 30lbs with the band and gained it all back when I got pregnant. I lost the pregnancy weight 3 months after giving birth. I then went to get it tighter. I have 9cc. So, it has been 3 months since I got my fill and I am not dropping anything!! I am also not gaining... I work out, and my eating habits are not bad but, I know it can be better... !

So here I am again, trying to stay motivated and do this again!!!<_<

    Anyone experienced this before???

  12. I got the band in August 2010 and got pregnant in November 2010. My band was at 7cc while pregnant and honestly I felt as if I was able to eat normal. Then 2 months after having the baby I got my band filled to a 9cc in a 10cc band. I am very restricted. Since then I just dont seem to lose weight I am not gaining either I am up 2 lbs down 2lbs but same weight... its becoming extremly depressing.... So I totally understand what your going through.

  14. Don't feel bad that was my same goal... and nope I gained 20lbs... I am back on the weight I had when I went to my Pre-op which is pretty depressing.. I did not unfill.. I am still at 9mm and have been eating pretty normal..like before I had my lap band. I also have 10 weeks to go and plan to not only breastfeed but, get on the Protein liquid diet to start all over again.... :)!

Take care of you and your little baby.. You will lose all that baby fat faster than you think :)!

  15. I am 23 weeks pregnant my band is at 9CC and honestly I feel the same as if I have no restrictions.. Sometimes it feels tighter than other days... I have gained only 12 lbs... I am walking but, I will be honest since pregnant my eating habits are horrible... :*( I am working on that now...

Tracy wow you lost a lot of weight after giving birth... How long before you went back to get your band filled?

  16. I am now 24 weeks pregnant. My band is still filled at 9... I am shocked that at this point in my pregnancy I have not felt any discomfort but, I won't lie I have been wondering if the baby will be able to feel or kick the port... My OB/GYN assures me she wont... So, maybe you need to see your Ob/GYn please keep me posted.. Congrats and best of luck!
