  1. I am also in Tulsa. I'm glad to see that there is another fill location here. I was banded by Dr. Katsis on May 22nd. I feel great and just got off one of my blood pressure meds and down to 1/2 of the other one. Also, I think my sleep apnea is gone. How are all of you doing with your weight loss? We should start a Tulsa area thread. GB
  2. I gained 2 #'s this week, but it's only because I was taken off of one of my blood pressure meds (the diuretic) and taken down to 1/2 of the other one. I may be completely off of that one by next Thursday if all goes well. My blood pressure is down to low normal and that was one of my biggest reasons for getting banded. Yahoo! Also, I didn't get my fill this week because I'm at the rate my doctor wants. I'm okay with it. I'm still not eating too much. GB
  3. Okay, I'll be next Ann. This is really big for me. This is one of the biggest reasons I had the surgery. My blood pressure is down low enough that my doctor took me off of one of my BP meds and reduced the other one to 1/2 dosage. I should be off the other 1/2 in a week or so. Also, I haven't had problems with sleep apnea for about a month and a half now. I feel like I will have a very healthy life now. My Dad had a major stroke at age 49 (my age now) and he was in a wheel chair for the rest of his life (the next 7 years). I really take after him (my Ma is slim) and I thought my fate would be the same as his. Thank goodness for the band. It may have just saved my life. And, like you Ann, I am wearing One Size fits All or Most too! GB
  4. Congrats Less! You can see the difference in your face. It's always nice to weigh less than the hubby. GB
  5. I have lost 3.5 pounds this week. Yahoo! (after 0 last week it feels good). 36 #'s total. 180 GB
  6. Well, I didn't lose any this week. I will have another fill in 1 1/2 weeks though and looking forward to it. I still feel great and am exercising regularly and fitting into a new set of old clothes (I separated out all of my clothes into sizes and I'm just going to one set at a time as the scale drops - it's fun). GB
  7. My plan calls for protein shakes between meals. You will find that you may get hungry between meals and want a snack. The protein shake is easy for breakfast too, when you don't have time to make eggs, etc.. I am 3 months out and expect to keep drinking them for a very long time. GB
  8. I drink a powdered protein drink in the morning and use the Magic Bullet to mix it (it's like a one serving blender). It works great. You drink out of the container that it is blended in. In the afternoon, I drink a liquid protein drink called Myoplex Lite by EAS, chocolate flavored is wonderful. It comes in a purple individual serving box in a 4 pack. (they also have a powdered drink, but it is too grainy for my taste). Both of these products can be found at Walmart Neighborhood Market. GB
  9. I will be 50 in a little over a month. I was banded on May 22nd and I am really happy. My insurance and surgeon required the 6 month or more diet 1st as well. Deb you may want to go ahead and get started on Weight Watchers or another one of your choice that you will have proof of for insurance. They want to know that you are capable of losing weight and following a plan. Best wishes to you and all of us. Gaye
  10. John, you almost look like a different person. You look great. GB
  11. I am down 2.5 pounds this week. 183.5. (32.5 total). GB
  12. Hi Jacque, I am from OK too! I had my band surgery on May 22nd and I have lost 32 pounds since the week before that. You have probably gone thru the same thing most of us has, losing weight and keeping it off for about 3 months and then it comes back every time, plus more. With the band, you are not as hungry. You fill up on very little food. You do start enjoying exersize and really look forward to it after a while. I work out at home because I know I won't stick to going to a gym. Let me know what you decide to do. GB
  13. I am down 30 pounds today. Yipee! One pound this week.
  14. I am down 2 pounds this week. 187. GB
  15. Hi Gonna, I bet your doctor is just trying to get you going on the weight loss again. I'm glad you are going to do it. Soup and protein shakes are really good liquids and that will make you appreciate small solid meals even more when you go back to them. Hang in there! GB
  16. Hi Nolar, Yes, click on anyones ruler and it will take you to the site. Sign up, enter your weight and etc.., and save. I think it then shows you the ticker that you have chosen and saved, you copy and then go to your name at the top of the page on this site LBS and it will take you to your page, click on change profile, then change signature and all you do is Paste onto that and it should appear. Good Luck, GB :crying:
  17. I was a beer drinker before surgery (2 months ago) as well. My doctor said that carbonation expands your stomach. We really don't want that. I had 2 glasses of wine at a swim party a couple of weeks ago. I won't do that very often, but it was pretty good for a change. GB
  18. I'm down 2 pounds this week. (189 #'s) I had my first fill on Monday which is helping quite a bit. 27 #'s total. GB
  19. I had my 1st fill today. It was very quick and easy. My surgeon does the fills and seems to do a good job. I was given 3cc's & had to drink a cup of water. I could really feel it going down. That is the first time I have felt restriction. I was really eating more than I should have for the last 1 1/2 weeks. I hope this slows it down. GB
  20. Happy Birthday Sarah! I did not lose any this week either. I finally get my 1st fill on Monday morning. I am so looking forward to it. GB
  21. There is a thread on the May 2009 board about hives. Some are allergic to whey protein. Check it out to see what they have done about it. GB
  22. I think we are all doing great too. I have lost 25 total, but 22 since surgery. I think some people went without a pre op diet, but 80-90% lost a great deal before, so don't worry. GB
  23. I'm feeling really good. People are noticing my weight loss. My bath towels seem so much bigger just from only a few inches lost so far. I don't have any lasting bad things going on. So sorry to hear your hair is coming out, but I bet that will subside soon, Linda. Best Wishes to all of us. GB
  24. Hi Sherry, Yes, Go into your page (click on your name), then click on Customize Profile, then, Settings, then edit Avatar, then towards the bottom it asks if you want to download from your computer, check yes and then browse your own photos wherever you have saved them (desktop, documents, my pictures, etc..) I hope this helps. GB
