  2. A very important part of why different people have different restriction levels from the fills is the amount of fat surrounding the stomach. If there is a lot of fat, then the band will be tighter. As the fat burns away the band gets looser and the need for another fill. GB
  3. I have decided to go to Weight Watchers tomorrow to get back on track with weight loss. I always had good luck with it in the past, but I always gained it back (this time it will be different because of the band though). :rolleyes2: I am exactly the same weight as I was the last time I went for a fill 11 weeks ago. I had 2cc's put in today. (7 total) This was a difficult time period for my diet because of the holidays, a cruise and a business trip. I'm ready to get back on track. Are you all going to do anything different or are you losing easily still? Gaye
  4. How much has everyone lost since starting weight watchers on the band?
  5. I'm so glad to see that some of you are doing WW along with the band. I have been banded for 7 months now and at a plateau. I am going to start WW next week. I always lose weight on it, but always gain it back. This time is going to be different. I'm so excited! Gaye
  6. My husband and I were on a cruise last week and had great food all week. I had a 1/2 dessert every evening. I excersized every day and walked a lot, but drank a lot and gained weight (about 4 pounds). Hopefully it will go away fast too. I only do this once a year and it would have been difficult for me during Thanksgiving anyway, so I'm okay and had a very good time. Gaye
  7. Mushrooms use to be one of my favorite items and now I don't care for them. I couldn't even tolerate them until just recently. I can't think of anything else. GB
  8. I am down by 1.5 pounds today. 174.5 I had a fill on Monday, so a little of a kick start for me again. GB
  9. My winter bath robe fits so much better than last year. Some people who can't tell I have lost weight, but know something is different, tell me that my hair has really gotten long and pretty. Life is so much more comfortable now. GB
  10. I thought I would join you all in photos. Before was taken about 2 years ago, but at the same weight that I started at with surgery. The 2nd one is from yesterday. I don't know how to do this so the image just shows up, so here is the link to my album. GB http://www.lapbandtalk.com/members/43644-albums4367.html
  11. Who's your doctor? Good Journey Maggie Hi Maggie, Katsis is my doc. If you have him as well, it could be that he only does the fills every 6 weeks or 8 weeks and is in surgery the rest of the time. I think it was at least 8 weeks when I got my first fill, then the 2nd one (yesterday) was 12 weeks after the 1st (he thought I was losing at a good pace at 6 weeks). Unfortunately just after that I started eating over a cup full of food per meal though and that really slowed down the losing. It's nice to have other Okies on here. Maybe we could meet sometime. Hi Rebecca, I have also noticed that we are at the same pace. I did start drinking more Protein though last week (instead of an evening snack of sugar free pudding with whipped cream) and lost another pound because of it I think. I think this new fill will help me again too. I think I will put a new photo up later today because I think my face is thinner now. GB
  12. That's great. I'll have to try it. I can tell on my hair line that it is very sparse all of a sudden. GB
  13. I'm going thru it too. Some days I just look in the mirror and think Wow, where did the weight go? I'm very pleased, but it doesn't show on the scales. I've gone thru this several times and I love it. The pounds seem to come off on the scales within a few weeks of this happening. I'm wearing a tight size 12 jeans now (hip huggers) (in waist high pants I'm still in a 14 or 16). I am finally seeing a waist line showing up though and that makes me really happy. Also, I just pulled my old sewing machine out of the closet and will start taking in some of my better clothes that I want to keep a while longer. GB
  14. I would like to join your group. I just turned 50 last week. I was banded in May and love it. I have been on a plateau for several weeks now, but will have my 2nd fill on Monday and looking forward to it. GB
  15. Congrats Linda. What a great feeling! I came down 1.5 pounds this week, but it was a work in progress over the last few weeks. Down to 176 now. I can't wait for my 2nd fill on Monday. Hopefully that will get me going faster again. GB
  16. I am finding more room in front of me when I go out to eat and sit at a booth. Also, I too am wearing heels again. I just went out and bought new size 14 jeans today. I went to a discount store so I won't feel bad when I am too small for these. All of my old jeans are now baggy. I am going to get my sewing machine out and try to tailor some of my clothes because I don't have enough to wear and I really don't want to spend money yet on new clothes (except jeans). GB
  17. Congrat's Ann, I'm there with you at the party! GB
  18. 1/2 pound this week. I now have less weight to lose than I have lost. That's a really good feeling. GB
  19. Ann and Dot, You are both beautiful! Your transformations are incredible. I love seeing a face with the name too. We really get to know each others personallities, so it's nice to see photos as we go along. GB

  21. I lost 1 pound this week, 38 total and I have 38 to go. Halfway point, Yipee! GB
  22. Mac, that's great. We are about in the same boat. I just got off my BP 3 weeks ago, gained at least 3 and then this week, lost 4, so over the hump, and you'll get back down and then some too! I had lost 8 pounds when I started taking the bp meds several years ago, so I knew this would happen to some extent. I also am turning 50 soon, next month. :blushing: GB
  23. In the last week couple of weeks I had gained 3 pounds because of getting off of 1 of my blood pressure meds (a diuretic) and 1/2 of the other one. Well, finally I took those 3 back off plus 1 more pound. Yahoo! (when I started taking bp meds several years ago I lost 8 pounds in 1 week), so I am just pleased that I had only gained 3 from stopping them. I had expected that, but I'm past the hump now. GB
