Hi Fellow Okies, I am getting banded on May 22nd with Dr. Katsis in Tulsa. Has anyone else used him. Is there another forum for Oklahoma? I see that this went for months without a comment. I'm so excited about this! :laugh:

Hi Chubisco, Your profile sounds very familiar. Chubby by age 3, diets and exercise as a child, teenager and adult and still gaining. This will be so good for us and finally stop the spiralling out of control. I will be banded in May as well. Yay!

I am on a high Protein, low carb, low fat diet now and I am supposed to have at least 1 Protein shake (20+ grams of protein) per day. I am drinking a protein shake at Breakfast & 1 at lunch, then light meal at dinner. I have a month from today left til surgery and I am going to have a few of my favorite meals in the next 2 weeks to get that out of my system. We had Thai food this evening. My pre-op liquid diet starts 5 days before surgery and then changes to Clear liquids the day before.

Thanks Sassy, Yes, let's do keep in touch. I never expected to be able to drive that soon. After knee surgery it took about 1 1/2 weeks, but that was my accelerator foot side. I may try to just walk for a while instead, but I can see me wanting to take a drive in a few days too. This is too exciting!

I just got my date today. It is on May 22nd. Woo Hoo! :crying: I had been given a date in April just to get insurance approved, but then found out it would be later. I'm okay with it. I will be on a liquid diet for 5 days before surgery. I am supposed to be on low calorie, low fat, very Protein rich diet now. I am slowly getting adjusted to it. Has anyone heard of how soon we can drive again after surgery?

Hi All, I have been moved to May for my band. The date hasn't been set until blood test results return. I do have approval from insurance though so all is well. I'm excited about this!

Hi Mary, I'm from Tulsa and it takes forever here as well. I am told now that my date will be in May. Insurance approved me about 1 1/2 weeks ago, I had a blood test on Wednesday (all of the other tests have spanned over the time period since November). Good luck and best wishes with yours.

Hi Elayne, I also had the sleep study & was given the cpap. I don't like it, but evidentally it will help with memory, crankiness and weight loss (& not dying in our sleep). After we lose more weight, we may never have to use them again. Yay! Best Wishes, GB

Hi, This is my 1st post on Bunny Bandsters and 2nd post in all. My band date is April 27th. Yay! I have a question: Does anyone know how soon we can exercise after surgery? I have a party scheduled 4 days after. It's a Sock Hop with dancing, etc... I'm glad to be here!

I am finally getting my surgery. My insurance company approved it last week and I think my date will be April 27th. I'm really looking forward to it. My surgeon told me that I have to stay the same weight or lose weight by the date.:wub: I have a party to go to 4 days after surgery. Can anyone tell me if dancing is possible that soon after?
