  1. Well I was out of work for 3 months due to the budget cuts in the education system... but I finally got back on my feet and got a job (even though its a through a job agency) but its a start... but I need a little help. I'm going to be working in a office... sooo I guess I need a little help or ideas or suggestion on what someone who is banded would eat or snack on.... cause being 3 months at home.... mellow.gif yeah it was my worst enemy.... So I need to get back on track. Any help would be really really appreciated.. FYI i'm super broke so I cant really go shopping for groceries right now.

    Thanks

Oh by the way i'm going to start working at Coke.... yeah something I loved before my lapband hahahaha

    Just a little info

was banded in Dec 17th started with a 4XLT shirt and size 52 pants and right now im using 2xl or XL shirts and 44 or 42 pants now biggrin.gif

  2. I also loveeeeee pizza... but I seen a few recipes for pizza on here one that I tried that, you make you "base" out of ground chicken... yes!

    I tried it unseasoned ground chicken.< /p>

    4oz ground Chicken or Turkey...

    Small non stick pan

Spray a lil EVOO on the pan

fill in the no stick pan with the ground Chicken/Turkey

slow cook (spinning so it wont stick)

    Flip

    add pizza sauce

a lil of your fav cheese

    your fav toppings

(I sauté my veggies before so they can be softer)

then add a lil more cheese

Cover pan to let cheese melt

    enjoy

  3. Elise I am 26yrs old and prior to my surgery I would go out to clubs often, 2 of my friends are club promoters so I go with them to help them out and also being with them you meet alot of people so those are our possible new customers when we open new night clubs. These guys know I have had the procedure done and they are very supportive of my decision of my new life so now when I go out to the clubs I walk around meeting new possible customers yeah i'll have a drink in my hand.... but its a non-alcoholic but hey the other person doesn't know that i'll ask the bartender for Water over ice with a wedge of lime or orange or a cherry or pinneaple so it looks like th real deal.

Now that I have lost 40plus pounds girls are more easily approachable and honestly I have gotten more customers/possible customers for my guys.

Dating its gotten easier.. I have no idea why im still my self

Going out to dinner... its easy depending on the restaurants but many restaurants will help you out with just small sides. Like last night I went to the movies and went to dennys after I had 1 scrambled egg with a small side of mashed potatoes with a side of salsa...

Everything is possible you just need to use your imagination a little, that's what I do.

  5. Hi Heather....

Yes it has been wild and crazy here in so.cal. I'm looking out the window and see super dark clouds on the northern side towards the cajon pass and blue sky were I am at and its really windy and cold... But hey thats California for you.

But back to your question.. I have seen on here that some people say that the weather does affect them.. But for me it doesnt. Well it hasnt so far either.

I hope someone else who has had the lapband for longer responds to your post.

  6. Well this forum got a little toooo quit .... So let me be the first one to say HAPPY NEW YEAR to all my fellow bandsters!

Well I had my surgery on Dec 17th.... and it's been great so far.

And I just wanted to post a before ad during picture.

    COMPARISON.png

Yeah I was out partying on new years eve.... some people told me that I should have been home resting.... IDKtongue.gif hahaha

  7. When you are in surgery, they pump your abdomen with gas- to kind of fill it up like a balloon, so they have "room" for your surgery without actually opening you up,

    :)

I didn't believe it when people told me that.. but that explains why I was sore right after surgery.rolleyes.gif

  8. Wow.... thats great... and with out a fill WOW... that just puts a smile on my face Congrats!!!

I feel like I am doing good probably not as good as you but I started at 368 on Dec 2nd got down to 341 on dec 17th (day of surgery) ad as of today im 333. Thats 33lbs in about 3weeks.biggrin.gif

Cograts RChavez! keep up the great jobcool.gif

I started my pre-op diet on October 22nd and had surgery on November 4th. To date I have lost 62lbs with out no fills. The journey has had ups and many downs. I am feeling great overall despite some setbacks. Happy Holidays everyone. :D

I started at 344 lbs and now weigh 282 lbs. I hope to get to around 220Lbs.

  9. It's been 1 week exactly today that I had my surgery. My doctor told me last monday that I was healing really fast (my cuts) they are scabbing already so i'm getting that itch already.

Anyways I asked my doctor if I could drive soon he said yes after tuesday I was fine to drive. Well today I went to Los Angeles it took me about 1hr&10mins to get there due to lovely LA traffic on the 10 & 605. I felt great

but right now I feel like someone kicked the sh** out of me on me lower left side of my stomach well more under my rib cage and yes there is pain. I am wondering now.. maybe I overdid it on my first drive? Cause im also brusing next to 1 of my cuts and another bruise on the other side.

    Has this happened to anyone?

Any OTC meds I could take? Cause I really dont want to take Hydrocodone

    Thanks

  10. Hey everyone! I'm in sunny Florida, just a little cool here right now. I'm getting my band tomorrow at 12:15. I've been through the 7 month insurance process and I've finally made it. I have to say I'm much more scared than I though I would be. Can someone please let me know what to expect when I wake up and the next 24 hours?

    Congrats NurseJen

I got banded on the 17th if this month and honestly when I woke up from surgery in the recovery room I woke up feeling great no pain no feeling sick at all. I actually told my doctor and his team "what the he'll happened? Is everything ok?" well not in those words I used my "ghetto terms" hahaha my doctor said I was all done and he said he was glad it went so well so I still told him "quit lying I don't feel nothing" he then laughed and said that I wouldn't feel nothing till about 8hrs or so. So I fell asleep and woke up around 9pm and I felt good just sore and the nurse got me some ice chips and at midnight they woke me up to start walking first time we walked about 200feet+/- then again at 4am then after that I was getting in and out of bed all by myself and walking. I'll be honest i had some pain (on a scale from 1-10 the highest I had was probably a 7 or 8) but then again I do have a high pain tolerance. Don't worry go in as I did confident positive proud and happy and keep in mind everything is gonna be GREAT!

I wish I could say more (but I have said tons already hahaha) but feel free to write to me at I will help you out in anything I can

    GOOD LUCK!

  11. Hello Everyone,

My wife is interested in getting the lap-band, i want to be a good husband and do some foot work for her. In southern California 1-800-get thin Weight loss centers has a major marketing campaign going, Anyone have experience with this company? i looked at the BBB website and couldn't find the company-any personal experience/knowledge? help would be appreciated.

    Pete O

    Hi Pete O

I have heard also mixed comments about them, but I just had my surgery on Dec 17th.... I went to them and it went very well... I had no problems the staff was great... to me the important thing is that they were bilingual so if my parents had any questions they could call and ask them and not worry about the language barrier. Also I had a great consultant.. she kept me up to date on everything that was going on with the insurance paperwork and the dr was great also very professional and explained everything in detail. What I liked about this group is that my consultant and doctor gave me there cell phone numbers so I could call them in case I had any questions.

But I guess everyone has there pro's and con's... you just got to keep in mind that this place has a few doctors and they only do this kind of work so I take it they deal with 100's of patients a day. Just on my surgery day there was 18 people in the hospital to get the lapband done.

    WOWlaugh.gif

  12. HI EVERYBODY!!

I was also banded on Dec 17th... and I been doing great I been on a clear liquid diet and im gonna be on it till this Sat the 25th. then I can move up to thick liquids.

I guess all doctors have different diets.. I wonder why?huh.gif

Well I do have a question

Nurses told me that I would have gas pains and that the shoulder pain is also related to the gas*weird* but ok. But I also get this sharp stabbing pain once in awhile on my left side they also said its due to gas build up. Has anyone else had this issue?

Ohhh and im getting hiccups but along (soo sorry if this sounds wrong)... along with the hiccups I sometimes need to burp and sometimes fart all at the same time...... hahahahahahaha and 1 more thing i'm getting like this confused feeling like cold feeling in my stomach and rumbling and kind of like hunger.... crazy how your stomach can do all that hahah
