Hey, I was banded on 4/13 mine went pretty much like your's except I had horrible gas. Have you experienced the gurgling stomach yet. It started for me on day 2 post surgery. Let me know if you experience this. Congrats on being banded, keep in touch.

@jess55 I think I may opt for the no restriction only because I feel this may work for me as well. Good to know there are others out there. So is it that the band is too tight that's why some people have issues with some foods.
-
So you eat sandwiches or maybe a half or 4th and rice and apples.
-
Anybody out there banded with no fill. Can you eat a healthy diet without ever vomiting. I mean can u have the chicken and the lettuce and not vomit. It just seems that with a fill I may not be able to have some foods, but if the band itself provides enough restriction can a person leave It like that particularly if they are losing weight and not get a fill.

@ Acadia can taking Prilosec For 6 months iliminate acid reflux.
-
@checkyes. my doctor did not fill the band, we discussed that right after surgery. @ Acadia thanks I didn't realize this could cause acid reflux 2 days out and I am on liquids only. I hope its just that I am still healing and it will go away. Someone else said phrenic nerve pain from placement. Oh my this is alot to consider 2 days out. I will call my doctor Monday.

@kimbrown27. It just seems like alot of banded people get a hernia repair at some point. I was just wondering.

Oh my! I'm terrified...

What concerns should one have when this happens.

Can a person who never had acid reflux prior to banding have acid reflux 2 days post op? I am feeling a minor or slight burn in my chest near the left side of my chest. What could this be?

Gas x chewables helped once or twice but I found maalox advanced maximum strength worked to stop the pain. I have chest and shoulder pain off and on as the gas moves out of my body. It hurts to cough, I had a little phlem come up when I coughed not sure what that is about. Never vomited or anything like that. I am using a breathing machine to make sure my lungs stay clear.

Why do so many Lapband patients need hernia surgery. Does Lapband placement cause hernia's?

Hey guys it appears as this gas moves out my body it is also moving to different areas. I have gas in my shoulders, neck, and now a headache from the gas sitting in my shoulder. I also have gas in my back. Yes it hurts to cough and blow my nose. I am having soreness in my chest. My incisions are sore as well. I am suppose to be able to move to mushies and strained foods 2 days past surgery. I will play it by ear and see how I feel tomorrow when I wake up. Are you guys being required to do breathing exercises on the breathing machine to ensure pneumonia doesn't set in?

Thanks TKW that helps greatly.

I am a person who analyses or over analyses everything I am interested in. I am newly banded and would like some information. I was banded on 4/13, can I just drink straight like I normally would or should I only sip my liquids. My concerrn is if I do not need to drink slowly at this point will this change as time goes on. I read people saying they are drinking 64 oz of Water. I am drinking very slowly by choice but I wonder if I am over thinking the water or liquid intake. Again, I was just banded and have no restriction. Thanks

Sorry to hear That fluffy I hope it works out for you. Is it the iceberg or spinach or just all salads.

I am very new to this since I was banded on 4^13 but my gas hurts constantly.

Hey I was banded 4/13 I feel the same, all is cool but the gas is unbearable. I know one of my bansters said when you feel gas take gas x, I felt gas from the moment I woke from surgery and it has continued. It is barely moving. The surgery itself was easy but the gas is killing me...anyoone else suffering with gas this way?
-
