Anybody out there banded with no fill. Can you eat a healthy diet without ever vomiting. I mean can u have the chicken and the lettuce and not vomit. It just seems that with a fill I may not be able to have some foods, but if the band itself provides enough restriction can a person leave It like that particularly if they are losing weight and not get a fill.

My question is when we eat and I am on mushies. How long does the food sit in the top portion of the stomach before it passes through the band? I am wondering if this is why I am feeling like something is stuck in my throat. I think I am eating too fast. I have no fills. Banded 4/13 and never vomited. Thanks

What is the scoop on maalox and lap band.

I am on muskies and had a stuck episode no pbing no vomiting, banded 4/13/11 some heartburn since the stuck mushie moved. I am gonna do clear liquids such as broth and Water assuming this will calm the area. Will this help and how long should I do clear liquids? I will get to my doctor after Monday when they reopen from Easter. Thanks

I drank pineapple juice and within an hour it passed. Back to liquids to lessen irritation. I ate too fast..even though you feel good on the outside your insides may need more time. Atleast that is the moral of my story. Thanks guys -

Hey guys I decided to drink pineapple juice before bed and within an hour the feeling was gone. I think I was eating my mushies to fast. I also believe my insides may need more time to heal. Thanks for the support. I will go back to full liquids for a bit. -

@ honk i think ur right. / back to full liquids. I spoke to my doc today and he said its ok to be on mushies but I think full liquids is what I may need. Thanks. -

I will check with my doctor...for those of us who bleach out teeth but drink tea and coffee now due to the band what should we do..what I mean is if you drink a warm beverage in the am to loosen your band what can we do to prevent teeth discoloration, beside bleach more frequently. Straws prevent the teas and coffee from discoloring your teeth. I guess warm water and lemon, ugh! -

I have lost about 10 pounds since banding. Does the port hurt more as you loose weight? Are some days more tender in the port area then others? What is normal with the port area?

I had this also. Real bad, so I know how u feel. I took maalox advanced and it didn't move it any faster but it eleviated the pain. The gas x strips and tabs didn't work for me. Good luck.. -

Hey I was banded 4/13. How does your port feel. I am starting to think about fills and wondering how the doctor knows where to inject the skin. Yes I have little energy but I am on mushies for 4 weeks. I only had to do liquids for 2 days. My port is tender to the touch and if I bend over. I wonder when this goes away. Take care -

Can a person who never had acid reflux prior to banding have acid reflux 2 days post op? I am feeling a minor or slight burn in my chest near the left side of my chest. What could this be?
