1. Got home from the hospital yesterday. Just had some gas pain, but it wasn't to bad. Didn't sleep good at all in the hospital, turned out I was allergic to the detergent they use on their linens. So I am broke out all over the place. Other than that I am doing just fine. I am able to get all my fluids in.

Glad to hear your out and doing well.

  2. My drain was removed at one wk visit and they left me with a hole in my side they said it would heal but it's still draining. I am glad to have it removed. I know this might be a dumb question but what does HW mean? I know sw is surgery weight and cw is current weight just not sure of the other.

I understand HW means heaviest weight. This is likely what you weighed before the preop diet. Surgery weight is the weight you are once you complete the preop diet and head into surgery.

Ohhhh okay lol, I wasn't sure thank you. Your doing really well with the weight loss

  4. 3 days to go!! I'm freaking out because I am worried about my liver not shrinking enough. Probably shouldn't be worried seeing that I have lost 25 pounds on my own. I guess since I am not scared of the surgery, I had to find something to freak about. This is what I get for reading stuff on the Internet about surgeon's closing people up for having fatty livers.

I think you need to relax you are going to be fine. You have done an awesome job on your weight loss so far. I only lost 7lbs before surgery and I didn't get turned away. Everything is going to work out for you ; )

  5. Is there anyone else out there that I can add on mfp? It shocks me that not many people like to help on this site...it's actually very disappointing!

I would like to be added, I'm only 11 days post op and I'm on full liquids. I think this would help me out a lot. I'm having a hard time trying to figure out what I can have. It will also help me be more disciplined in logging my intake, knowing I have someone watching.

  6. Thank you, thank you, thank you....I don't know how to act right now, but when the office calls, ima act all mellow.....lol...but we know the truth !!!!!

  7. Good Morning Ladies, how is everyone feeling today? I hope all surgery's went well with very little pain after and I hope tall have a speedy recovery. Good luck to those who are going in today. I feel like a new person today, I survived all the withdrawals from food and nicotine (my family survived as well LOL) I'm really amazed at how I feel after a week with no cigs. I have a lot more energy and I'm not tired all the time. I still have the urge to go smoke but I won't give in eventually it will go away. My kids have been a big help, if I would go outside where I would sit and smoke one of them would follow to make sure I wasn't lighting up lol. My son even told me he would do liquids with me so I wouldn't have to cook(he's 12 ) he's a mama's boy, my daughter she is just hardcore she will tell it like it is, she gives out the tough love ( she's 8 ) but she's a big help. Well that's it for me today I hope everyone has a great day. Now I'm off to Walmart!

  8.
I'm sure I will encounter many challenges along the way.

Today I got a call from the surgeons office today. My surgery day has been moved up to June 23. It's just a week, but I got the "shock" of reality sensation when I heard that. Oh, well.

What kind of pre-surgical prep did you have to go through? I keep hearing different information. I know I will find out on June 17Th when I go for my pre-op, just curious.

Hi JMAW, your story sounds exactly like mine. I had the same problems with my band. I did get up to 6.25mls in Fluid. It was probably to much. Anyway I'm scheduled for my revision to bypass on June 11th. My pre-op prep was not to bad I had to do EGD, ultrasound of gallbladder, lab work, EKG and a pre-op class with NUT, now I'm on a 2 wk liquid diet. That's it until next wed. I haven't gotten nervous yet but I'm sure I will. Good Luck on your new journey.

  9. I'm having really bad withdrawal's today. I'm really punishing myself I have given up food and cigarettes all at the same time. I new I should have quit the cigs last month. I'm on day 3 of liquids and no cigs. I know it's for the best and I'll be healthier but it's just soooo hard!!

You can do it!! Just think of how much healthier you're going to feel getting all the crap out of your system. I quit smoking on September 20th, 2012, as soon as I found out my referral for weight loss surgery had been accepted. I haven't slipped once, because I keep reminding myself that it's for the bigger, better, good. Lol, pardon the pun. I downloaded an app on my iPhone that's called, "Since I Quit". It tells you how long since you've smoked, how much money you have saved, how many cigarettes you haven't smoked. I look at it daily, it's quite inspiring.

As for the liquid diet, I'm on day six of mine. The third day was hardest for me. Now I'm just in the routine of things and don't even think about regular food. Plus, I've lost close to 8 pounds already!!!Drink tons of Water, it helps for both things you're going through. You can do this!!!! We are all here to support you!!! :-D

Thanks for the support hopefully tomorrow will be easier. I'm going to add that app it sounds really cool. Great job on your weight loss ! I'm not going to weigh until Thursday that will be one week. We'll I'm going to TRY not to. I think I'll go shopping today and keep myself busy. Thank you for the support.

  10. Since I'm 6 days in... do you know if sugar free fudge popsicles n sugar free pudding I can have now?

Keeba: I could have fudge pops after day 2 post op. I loved unflavored Protein powder in my Jello. And dannon fit&?? vanilla yogurt. The yogurt helped me stay full the longest.
