  1. I have realize. Picked it because - my doc said he mostly uses it in women.

Also Realize has smaller port - less bumps on my tummy after I loos all the weight.

And more evenly distributed pressure on the stomach wall from inflatable inner part . I think it means a lesser risk of erosion into the stomach but it is totally my impression and not something I got from medical research.

  2. Try papaya enzyme. Also, you shouldn't be eating normal food if you're stuck. Most people stick to liquids for a day or so to let things calm down as a stuck episode can really irritate your stomach/pouch.

Reverie - I got stuck but was not too bad, just relaxed, meditated , convinced that stubborn piece of broccoli to go down...

Entire episode lasted maybe 3 min. No vomiting, BPing. A lot of tiny burps and little slimming.

Question for the future (hope never again) Should I switch to liquids for a day no mater how mild the stuck episode is?

    THX for advise!!

  3. I am with you on not getting a fill while hunger is MIA and you are loosing weight. We only have +-11cc to 'play' with

I just cancelled my first fill appointment for 3/31.

I lost 11lb in 4 weeks post opp (not counting 9lb I gained the day of the surgery and lost after the surgery :-)

2.75lb per week is not HUGE, but I like it

Also like you I am not hungry - and absolutely lovin' it !!!!

  4. [Elizabeth, You are full of crap and have no business posting in this forum. You know damn well that you are hawking a product for your own benefit and have no interest in helping anyone lose weight. You are absolutely ridiculous and need to be barred from posting here. I only hope anyone reading your nonsense is smart enough to see through your advertisement.

    AGREED

  5. Wouldn't fill; 10lbs a week? Do you mean 10lbs a month? Either way I say don't get one, doesn't sound like you need it especially if you aren't hungry. I've eaten a cup of food all along, no fills, and have lost great.

Yep - she did mean 10lb a week. She told me if I loos less and have no fill I would cry and blame them. She is local fortune teller I guess hehe ...

  6. I am 15 days after surgery.

Had my first post opp yesterday.

They said I am doing good with weight loss.

One of the people in the office (not RN not DR not Nut :-) said I HAVE to have a fill in 4 weeks unless I am loosing 10lb a week.?

I am turning to this forum to get YOUR PERSONAL experience please let me know if you would fill or not fill. Here is my stats:

    1. I am not hungry
    2. I have no restriction
    3. I stop eating after I ate my 1 cup of food (99% of the time - might change with the fill)
    4. I am choosing the right foods (99% of the time - will not change with the fill)
    5. I am 800-1000cal a day (60-80 Protein, 30-40 Fiber, etc all 'as doctor ordered')
    6. I lost 13lb pre-opp diet 2 weeks; gained 9lb day of surgery; lost that 9(water) plus additional 8lb in 2 weeks.
    7. Cost of my fills are free first 90 days post opp. And only $30 after 90 days. It is not a deal breaker for me - just an fyi

So would you fill or not fill?

  7. I don't have your insurance. Not sure if what I did help.

I asked my insurance for the document that lists all requirements I have to meet in order to be approved.

It was a 25page doc - they gave me link to. Long article on what and why and how to live so I don't to not have to have the surgery and and half a page of what I have to have in order to be approved.

That half a page had all you can exspect - BMI over 40 if no comorbities; psych eval; facility meeting some defined standards with the link to approved facilities, etc.... It also had a link to the form that doctor had to fill out. My insurance wanted THAT form in THAT format and no other format.

Got approval in 30 min after rthey had all docs.

  8. I had a similar question. A lot of people who lost a LOT of weight look 'square' in the torso area. The younger you are the less effect extra weight should of had on 'spreading' your skeleton to support all the extra ponds and fat around the organs.

Corset/girdle/shape ware can help I guess.... I only hope I will loos enough to worry about looking 'square' :-)

    Found pic on the web....
