1. Great job cupofjojo! I know I'm ready to shop also! I think I'm close to done losing. Got further than I ever thoughts would. This was such a great choice! I used to have so much back pain and pain from arthritis in both knees, previously had knee replacement on both knees. Now I'm pain free. I feel like a new person.

  3. Anyone get light headed and flush feeling first thing in morning before eating anything? It's happened yesterday and today. Weird. I'm getting in 70 - 80 G Protein and 50-60 oz Water every day. I know I need more water. Dr said. To make sure to at the very least get in 48oz to stay hydrated. I don't like this feeling. Bought a new blood pressure wrist machine (for hubby). And took my bp today. It was 93/50. Also the feeling goes away when I lay down. So strange

Yes! I get a racing heart and light headed. Only in the mornings after showering and having my Protein Shake. I used my mom's pulse oximeter and it shows my heart rate jumps up to 130-135 beats per minute. But when I lay down for about 10 minutes it goes back to normal. Talked to my cardio about it and will have to wear a heart halter monitor for one day. With my luck it won't happen the day I wear it! I didn't have this before surgery, but I do have mitral valve prolapse and always had the fluttering feelings come and go. Good luck to you! Hope it's not anything serious.

  4. For fast on the go Protein I also love the P3 packs. I do cottage cheese single packets. To get some veggies in I get a prepackaged thing in the produce section that has hummus, carrots, celery and sunflower seeds. I've also been doing a nature valley protein chewy bar. It has 10 grams of protein and tastes sooo good. I have to limit those because they do have some sugar, but not too much. Mcdonalds has a decent wrap and if u get it w grilled chicken not too bad.

I've also been in a stall with weight loss, but think I'm still losing inches. When I get compliments from people I haven't told I just say thanks and if they ask how I say 'I've been working really hard, met with a dietician and now eat several small high protein meals. It's the truth... ????. Glad to hear I'm not the only one that has slipped up here and there. Keep up the great work everyone!

  5. Thinking about sneaking a small glass of wine in tonight on date night. I was given the okay and I'm not really a habitual drinker. I'm a little reluctant to ask if anyone has had a little alcohol since surgery just because every forum I've read with the same topic is filled with indignation and it's really annoying to read. This has been been a great group so far so I just wanted to run by you guys what you thought? I figured I'd have a few sips to Celebrate tonight ..thoughts?

I haven't tried it yet, but curious to know how it goes for you! Enjoy your date!

  6. Wow, everyone is doing so awesome!!

    Date of surgery 2/11/14

    Starting weight 257

    Surgery weight 246

    Current weight 216

I also stall if I don't get enough calories. For me, the right range is 800-900 calories and 70-80 gms of Protein. I never get my Water in, usually only 40 ozs. Went from a size 20 to 16. I am 5'10" and I had a lower BMI. I miss the diet coke!!!

  7. I'm exhausted, too! Was in almost a 2 week stall between weeks 3-4 but it finally moved down 2 pounds. Clothes are also fitting much better. But I'm so tired!!! Even with getting good sleep at night. My nut said it was because of such low calorie intake, but still wants me to eat healthy. So not sure when it will get better. I just try to get naps whenever I can.

  8. I had my 4 week follow up yesterday. Frustrated with slow weight loss over last 2 weeks. They say it's because I'm not eating enough and body is fighting to hold onto everything. I'm eating exactly what they said to and often. I get hungry every two hours, just can't get much in. They said to be patient and will will start coming off faster soon. It is great to be getting some regular food now. Love the Mission Carb Balance tortillas. Great with chicken, or Beans, or to make a pizza, etc. if you haven't already, check out the recipes on The World According to Eggface's website.

  9. Hi everyone, I am Angie and I had my surgery 2/11. I was pretty miserable until like 6 days after it, getting rid of the gas was so hard. I have a question, everything I have makes me burp right away. I sip Water, Protein Shake, Soup and all is the same. Is this normal?? Also I lost 17lbs but nothing in the last 3 days and that freaks me out. I am so glad I found this app, thanks

Hi Angie. I also had mine on 2/11. I lost the same amount and then stalled a few days. Then today was down another 2. I've been lucky to be off of work this whole time and going back to full time on Monday. I also burp a lot, but it seems to be getting less and less. For some reason I find the easiest thing to drink is Powerade zero calorie, fruit punch flavor. So much easier than drinking water and less burping.

  10. Hey All. I'm feeling a little better every day. I didn't post much because I didn't want my experience ruining anyone else's. I had a hard time after surgery. It was bad. The day after was one of the worst days of my life. I was going through the same things as Super. Violently dry heaving, severe nausea, severe pain. Today I am 3 days post op and feeling a ton better.

Question - when you drink anything, no matter the temp or flavor - when it hits your stomach, do you get a weird, almost painful sensation? My dr says it's normal, but I wanted to hear if anyone else is experiencing this too?

Hi Glitter, sorry to hear it was rough, but glad to hear you are doing better. Yes, I had a painful sensation when swallowing. It would last about a couple of seconds and then go away. At first it was with every swallow. Now it only happens if I take too big of a swallow and is getting better every day. To me it feels like the liquid goes down and sits on top of the entrance to the stomach and slowly drips into the stomach. As the swelling goes down, it gets better. It still happens with Water if I forget to take tiny sips. I miss being able to gulp cold water down.

  11. Just an update on me. Got almost all my Protein in today. Also I have been walking about 1.5-2 miles a day the last four days. I'm down 14 pounds and feeling much better everyday. My blood sugars are amazing and I have lowered my hourly dose on my pump again (with doctors direction). The sleeve is saving my life!

Wow! You are doing so. Awesome! Congratulations!

  12. Does anyone else use the app My Fitness Pal for tracking Protein and food? My nut suggested it yesterday and it's pretty cool. I'm getting more protein than I had thought. Here's a typical day on the full liquid diet:

Light yoplait banana yogurt w vanilla protein powder(took 45 mins to eat)

    4 oz Protein Shake (milk+unjury+carnation)

1/2 cup cream of chic Soup w Protein Powder

    1/2 cup FF cottage cheese

1/2 cup cream of chic soup w protein powder

    DQ sugar free Fudgesicle (yummy!!)

Between eating every two hours and trying to get the Water in between food and then the calcium chews and Vitamins I feel like I'm always trying to get something down! But I was down 15 lbs at my first week follow up!! Yay!!

OMG that pain Syrup in the hospital was awful! I had to plug my nose to get it down. Good news was the prescription I filled after discharge had some cherry flavor and wasn't quite as bad.

  13. Yes, it makes a little gurgle at first. That is starting to go away. I also had pain with each sip the first couple of days. It felt like even the smallest sip would just sit above the stomach for a few seconds before entering the stomach that also went away. The dr said it was because of swelling and it went away like he said. I'm surprised how it can still take 30 minutes to eat a 1/2 cup of Soup because the stomach gets full and I have to wait to take more.

  14. I'm on day seven. Feeling pretty good. Easier to swallow now and very little pain- except for an awful pinched nerve in my neck. Not sure if that's related to surgery or not. Just tried a cream Soup for lunch and could only eat 1/4 cup before feeling too full. Having trouble getting all of the Water in. So far I've lost 23 lbs since starting the 2-week pre-op shakes.< /p>
