March Pre Spring Challenge Big congratulations to CTMom who is now no longer a fat person with a BMI in the normal range. legnarevocrednu is in Onederland Congratulations to everyone who has already met their goal, to those close to meeting their goal, those who have lost any weight at all and even those who have gained weight this month. I think that everyone of us at least once in our life threw up our hands and thought "what's the use I will never loose any weight, let alone enough to make a difference". Just because you are participating in this challenge proves that you are making an effort. I expect to see everyone back for next months April Showers Challenge.

    Like Misha even though the scale hasn't been moving much I found out today that I can now fit into a 44 pants. Now 44 still seems big but compared to the 60 something (don't know my exact pants size since I only wore stretch band pants before) I was wearing this is a big event. The thing about this is the a size 44 is normally the largest size pants sold in stores, if you want larger you have to go to the big and tall store. It has been quite a few years since I was able to go to Target or Khol's and buy clothes, although Goodwill is still my main shopping source, it is nice to know that I could buy new clothes if I wanted to.

    March Pre Spring Challenge

I'm Larry and I am from Indianapolis, IN. I will be 60 years old this July (I hate to think about this). I am married, I have 4 grown step children and 6 grandchildren, all boys and three cats who live with us, they think we live with them. I never was overweight when I was younger but years, the problem was that I had the attitude that moderation was for monks, so years of eating what I wanted and heavy drinking plus the fact that I am by nature a lazy person put on the weight. A couple of years ago I went to the mailbox after it had snowed and slipped and fell down. I couldn't get up and had to crawl through the snow to my car so I could pull myself up off the ground. I ended up getting my hands frostbit and at that point decided that drastic measures needed to be taken. Now 155 lbs lighter I feel better than I have in years. In my personal life after loosing 100 lbs I decided I was going to learn to play an instrument, My wife has played guitar and sang since high school but I never had the motivation to actually sit down and learn how to play, even though we have one of almost every kind of instrument in the world in our house. Last summer I found a ukulele in the closet that I had purchased on E-Bay years ago and repaired. I put new strings on it and started practicing. My gosh what I had been missing all my life, I am now obsessed with playing this little instrument, it just makes me feel so good. There is a problem though, It is a ailment called Ukulele Acquisition Syndrome. At this point I own 11 of these things. For anyone who in interested here is a recording we made at home, I am not playing on this, I have just reached the point where I feel comfortable playing in front of people so maybe next month I I will make a recording with me playing on it. This is my wife singing and playing baritone ukulele to an old Gus Khan-Richard Whiting tune called Ukulele Lady.     You know that your weight lose is working when you can measure how much you have lost from your waist size in feet. BTW your before and after pictures show what a tranformation you have made. Not only are you thinner but you so much more cheerful and happy than before.

The best part of running this challenge is that I have to read everyone's posts, so that is the reason for the questions, yep it's for my entertainment. So!!! To Justdoit130 yes you can pretend you are 29 years old for as long as you like, but "laying on the beach!!!!" does not count as an exercise/activity. To Carol who's personal goal March is to "start a you tube channel", we will be expecting a link by the end of a the month. and to Megan, try walking where it's not boring. Stay tuned, more to come.

    Weight Loss Without Exercise?

    It is posible, I lost over 100 lbs with very little exercise, but I was extremly overweight and at the time was so out of shape I wasn't able to excercise, now I have to work a lot harder at loosing weight. So I would say it is posible up to a certain point but not feasable to obtain my ultimate goal.

    Well I got back in time to update the schedule but after staying up until 3AM for three nights in a row playing music and drinking Irish Whiskey I ended up taking a nap and slept all afternoon. I promise to get it updated by this weekend. The good news is that even though I drank a lot calories over the weekend I didn't snack at all so I still ended up loosing 1/2 pound for the weekend.     Now that I have your attention where is this weeks quiz. Oh, I didn't mention there would be quizes. My bad! What habit do you have left over from your max weight that you need, or would like to break? Here is mine. I still drive around the parking lot looking for the closest parking space, even though I know the walking is good for me and I don't mind walking anymore. I even caught myself doing this at the gymm the other day. So starting today, well maybe not today since it is so cold it makes you remember that men have nipples too, but as soon as it warms up I am going to start parking as far away from the store as I can.

    Weighed in at 240 this morning, 3 lbs down from last week, now let's see if I can keep it going in the right direction. I have been bouncing around 240 more or less for 2 months now. Sorry I didn't get the results posted over the weekend. I will get it taken care of this weekend.
