  1. Thanks Lisa & Rainy - I'll check out the Pearls - I've never heard of those before. I'm a big yogurt person though. Does anyone know if freezing the yogurt kills the good bacteria? I'm in love with Go-Gurts.

Looking at the sugar content of those should change that.

  2. Even the bottle states "may cause oily anal leakage" enough said! My sister tried it for a short time.. there is something wrong with driving around with an extra set of clothes in your trunk "just incase". And yes she was glad she did, after needing them once she stopped it.

  3. The "liquid meds only" is just a myth .. heck they gave my pills whole in the hospital the morning after surgery and I have continued to take them whole ever since .. however to answer the question I havn't tried any of the things you mentioned but I have heard talk on here before about them, however I didnt read much since I didn't have an intrest in trying them

  4. All thru highschool I wore the plain Reebock womens Princess classics. Best sneakers ever made I would have told you. Now they including 4 other pairs I have bought are not comfortable. They feel good for 5 min or so in the store.. some even better then just good. Then after an hour or so my feet start cramping up and feel smooshed like they have never been in sneakers before. I have tried different brands.. instead of an 8.5 I usually take I opted for a 8 Wide, tried $100 sneakers, and cheapo's from Walmart. I can't seem to find anything comfortable enough to wear for more then a few hours. I'm starting to wonder if it's not the sneaker and considering I could have the start of neuropathy in my feet from the diabetes. I have been to a places where people actually work and suggest a shoe for your needs,, still no luck

  5. Can someone tell me if there are any symptoms associated with your band slipping? I had fill last Thurs. perhaps a little too tight.. liquids and mush Fri & Sat .. Vomited due to stuck most of Sun & some of Monday... been ok about 24 hours now however noticed today when I coughed pain in the port area. I would like to think it was just a muscle strain or pull but it's only 1 sided.. In the past like with the flu or whatever and excessive vomiting I would feel something similiar however on both sides. I still feel restriction with bites too big or too much eaten so that makes me think everything is still in place.

  6. Been stuck about 30 min now .. won't come up, dosn't want to go down, liquids don't help and come right back up. Not comfortable but not in agony... How long do you wait this out? I have always been able to get it back up pretty quickly, never had this issue. Can I go to bed and it will be gone in the morning? Eventually it has to do something.

  7. I had to bite the bullet. I was seen today and had 2 cc's taken out. Very frustrating since last week was a great week following my last fill. However after chatting today with the doc we came to the conclusion the vomiting started incidently the day I got my period this week. Today being day #4 and no vomitting to speak of however I am being insanely careful as well. Go back in a week and she will give me back my 2 cc.

  8. I am 5 months post op with about 8 cc's in my band. Although I still feel no real restriction I have found myself vomiting a lot of stuff I could tolerate prior to my last fill. The 1st week following my fill was fine .. no issues, no restriction, but no vomiting either. I guess I should clarify the vomiting is usually related to being stuck. It can happen on bite 1 or bite 4 and it seems to have not started until the 2nd week post fill. Yesterday was beef stroganoff.. chewed real well and just a few bites before I was in agony and stuck.. today a hamburger patty, no bread .. again tiny bites, not overcooked, melted cheese for moisture .. no go. lunch I stuck w/ greek yogurt which is never an issue but a boarderline slider I think.. Tonite even a 1/2 cup of chicken salad took forever and was not comfortable but did not come up. I'm thinking chicken salad is moist, pretty chopped up. Am I in need of an unfill? I feel like I should be able to eat solids and not have to live on mushies.

  9. This was my biggest fear as well .. what if I can't loose weight even with the surgery? Ugh what a looser I would be. So it's not pouring off but it is happening .. very slowly. It's been 5 months and am down 40 pounds .. granted not a lot but definately 40 pounds I wouldnt have done on my own. I still don't have much restriction and frankly the 40 has been done thru basically dieting just like preband. I just keep reminding myself how long it took to put it on (approx. 15 years) so giving my band just a few months before giving up on it isn't fair. (which I swear I do 3-4 times a week)

I also recently took a realistic look and asked myself if I was doing my end of the bargain at 100%. Like any diet / lifestyle plan if you only kinda do it, it only kinda works.

  10. I get stuck what I think is way too often .maybe 3-4 times a week. As soon as it goes down and is stuck I know it's just a matter of time and have gotten pretty good at bringing it back up. I know I eat too fast and still insist on trying bread / Pasta products despite knowing it rarely turns out good. Common sense would tell you fluids would help push it thru but it dosn't .. it just conts. to back up, eventually having no choice but to vomit. I have found occasioally sitting up real straight and slow deep breathes more like over inflating your lungs help move it along for me.

  11. I might reconsider actually. 8 cc's filled, 5 months post op and really no restriction. I am having to "diet" same as preband and am not even at 40 pounds lost yet. Not a whole lot has changed really. I keep plugging away thinking I know it's in there and some day this might get a little easier.

  12. I am already at a stand still and am only 5 months post op and down about 38 pounds. I have approx. 8cc's in a 14 cc band and feel nothing.. zippo.. the big fat goose egg. I can eat just like I did pre band comfortably. Theres a few things I don't tolerate as far as stuckage but I can still eat at least double the normal size plate the nutritionist has in her office. The weight I have lost has been strickly from the pre op and diet on my own since. If I could do this thru diet and exersize over the past 20+ years I would have but I'm not so sure this band has helped at all. I am willing to put in the work but expected a little cooperation from the band.. I'm very discouraged.

  13. I have yet to feel full as well but I am 5 months post op and have almost 8 cc's in my band. Have found plenty of things that get stuck and I no longer tolerate .. but still waiting on full. Starting to think it may never happen.

  14. Before you spend a fortune on equiptment try sneakers .. no weight limit to my knowledge. I had to do a major 12 pound "crash" 3 weeks prior to my preop liquids. If my weight wasn't down it was cancelled. Even the nutritionist was like no way .. just reschedule. Well it wasn't pretty but I got it done.

  15. I just had an unfill of 2 cc's 3 weeks ago .. the PBing & sliming stopped instantly .. unfortunately I went back 2 weeks later and was up 3 pounds .. so she put the 2 cc's back .. I am back to the PBing & sliming again but not quite as bad .. I am more aware of smaller bites, chewing more, the need for gravies & sauces .. yet quantity can still eat as much as ever. I am at a total of 7.25cc's and will be calling them in the AM for I guess another fill? I don't even know as it seems obvious I might be too tight?
