  1. Wow, I have some of the same concerns regarding the lack of attentiveness during after care. I too was banded on the 22nd. I had to go back in the next day because I had not been able to use the restroom (don't get me started). The only difference is my follow-up appointment is this thursday (day after tomorrow). I can only say be patient and consult your general practitioner.

  2. I am having the same problem. Tomorrow will be a week since surgery and it has been a challenge getting all the Protein in. I went to GNC on yesterday and bought some protein packs. I have been trying to mix them in anything I can because I am SICK of the protein drinks, they are starting to make me gag. I mixed some into the yogurt i had for Breakfast it wasn't too bad. I will also try to mix some into my ice cream. At this point protein is my primary focus.

  3. well it wqs 5 days for me - I did hurt a little bit in my port area after that

Thank God for this site. I have been wondering if something is wrong with me. I had surgery 5 days ago and I think I'm ready. The only problem is my partner has no idea I've had surgery. He thinks i'm out of town and has been calling me constantly today, I know he's ready for me to "come home".

  4. Thank You, i'm glad to know i'm not the only one suffering. I feel a little better this morning as the gas is trying to escape (ha.ha). I still hate that lump i feel in my chest. How many weeks has it been for you?

Hi, sorry to hear and I also had similar issues a couple weeks ago. It was tough getting down liquids the first two days, but eventually got much easier as the internal swelling went down and was able to eat pudding, yogurt, etc. When I first started eating I felt a lot of pressure, which was gas and it finally came out eventually. Don't hesitate if you need to belch ;), it really helps. My stomach also snarled at me like I was torturing it haha, but that went away too.

Hang in there and if you really feel pain or your diahrhea becomes uncontrollable I wouldn't hesitate calling your surgeon. Try to sip Water as often as you can, you may also be a bit dehydrated.

    Happy Thanksgiving!

  5. I am in desperate need of help/support. I was banded on Monday afternoon. Since then I have pretty much only been able to eat ice chips and drink grape juice. Today I added popsicles and pudding to the equation. I have had diarrhea since surgery and have only been able to urinate once today. I just resumed taking my Vitamins today and I'm not sure if they made me feel worse. I feel this lump in my chest like something wants to come up but at the same time my stomach is growling to indicate that i'm hungry. What is going on with me? Am I possibly doing something wrong?
