  1. I couldn't really stand for more than a few minutes unless i was walking around. i spent a lot of the time laying down.
  2. I'd like to know as well. I had suergery May 11 and I haven't had a BM since the day before that. I guess since I'm on liquids now I won't have to go.
  3. I would just tell them. If they are really your friends they will support you.
  4. Can't wait till ny belly stops hurting and I can move around easier
  5. I was just banded 2 days ago. I'm on a liquid diet and they have me drinking 4oz every hour, starting from 8am to 10pm. I'm not hungry at all and don't feel like drinking every hour, but i'm following instructions. i'm waiting to see id this will change at all, but drinking protein helps me stay full longer.
  6. You just have to day it day by day. That week I lost 7 lbs so that was good. I just kept thinking to myself this is something I have to do, I have no choice.
  7. I was banded yesterday May 11th around 9 in the morning. This was my first surgery and let me just say you have nothing to worry about. I actually don't have any gas pain. The only times I have gotten up is to use the bathroom because they have me on an IV. I can't eat or drink until they take an X-ray of my band which is at 7am today. It basically just lime my stomach area is sore. I have morphine As my pain medicine which I control and I am taking advantage of it because I don't want to have pain. I use it maybe once every half hour and obviously longer if I don't need it. Good luck and don't worry about a thing.
  8. Surgery went well. I guess I felt the most pain right when I woke up so the nurse started me on pain meds right away. I'm on a Morphine pump that I control myself. My pain level is probably at a constant 2 just because my tummy is sore. Other then that I feel line. I was. Little annoyed because I spent like 4 hours in recovery because I had to wait for a room to become available. I have a pain In my back but I think it's because of laying in this damn hospital bed. The nurse gave me a heating pad. I have had cotton mouth all day because I can't have any fluids or food, I'm on an IV. I guess at 7 am I'll get an X-ray of my band. Then after that my surgeon will make the decision if I'm allowed to start fluids because then he'll start my fluids here. I've had 2 shots of heparin in my belly, I have the things on my legs to prevent clots, nasal cannula, and my spirometer that I have to use to exercise lungs. Overall this surgery want bad. This was my first real surgery. Also I dont have any gas pains. I burped a few times after surgery, but nothing else since. Going to bed now.
  9. Surgery is tomorrow morning at 8:45am. I think it's finally starting to kick in and I now feel nervous. I hope I will still be able to sleep tonight. I will let you guys know my status tomorrow after my surgery. I'm gunna try and go to sleep soon.
  10. Seriously 6 months goes by quick and before you know you are right at your date. I started back in November and had to see the nutritionist for 6 months. I am being banded tomorrow morning. It feels like I just started this journey. Good luck to you.
  11. Good luck!! I have to be at the hospital at 6:45 tomorrow. I've lost 6 pounds on my liquid diet since last Wednesday. I'm hoping the rest of today flys by.
  12. This diet really sucks and it's only day 3. 4 days left to go. I've been living off of raw carrots, yogurt, SR pudding, and SR applesauce. I haven't had time to make jello. I guess so far so good. I've lost 4 lbs since Wednesday. This is si hard when everyone around me is eating normal. I've been drinking water, crystal light, decafe coffee, and diet snapple. I hope the weekend flys by. Monday is my pre-op appt with my surgeon and Wednesday is the big day!!!!
  13. I've been talking with a friend who had her surgery done by my Dr. and the same place. She told me I won't even be able to have ice chips or anything until the next day. I guess they make you stay over cuz they do the xray the next day to check your port and see if its leaking. My surgery is at 8:45am so it's going to be a long day. She said they'll probably discharge me the next day by 10am the latest. My mom had hers done at a different hospital and she had ice chips the day of and she went home a few hours after her surgery. I'm really not looking forward to staying. I know they'll give me a morphine pump that I'll be able to control myself.
  14. Magic bullet is awesome!!! I have made shakes in it and it blends it fine.
  15. I start my liquid diet tomorrow and my surgery is May 11th!!! I'm so excited. The nurse at the hospital said a guy wan't allowed to stay over night with me at the hospital. Does that mean my husband wouldn't be allowed? I'm having a friend stay with me anyway so my husband can go to work the next day. Hopefully they'll allow her to stay.
  16. 8:45am and I have to be there 2 hours early.
  17. We have the same date!!
  18. I also have Cigna. You don't have to worry about anything. I saw my nutritionist for 6 months and gained weight. I was still approved.
  19. 300 calories a day MUST not be right. That is not enough to fuel your body. I was told I need to have between 60-80 grams of protein a day. That's 4oz of protein shake before each meal. Even after my surgery I'll be between 600-800 calories a day.
  20. I'm not sure when my paper work was submitted, but I was approved within 2 weeks of my last nutrition appt. It seemed so quick.
  21. May 11th. I start my pre-op diet on May 4th. Tomorrow I'm starting a modified version I came up with so I can jump start my weight loss. (Liquid diet, but with a regular lunch). Also, I don't want to go from eating regular calories and drop down to a liquid diet.
  22. I called my insurance to double check that I was approved and its a YES! I might be crazy but I just wanted to be reassured.
  23. My surgery isn't until May 11th and I am thinking of starting my liquid diet 2 weeks before (April 27th) instead of my required one week. I figured if people can do it for 2 weeks so can I. I want to get a jump start on my weight loss. My pre-op diet is only liquids I don't want to all of a sudden cut my calories) so starting April 27th I might have all liquids but have a regular lunch and then starting May 4th stricktly liquids.
  24. I hope my feet will shrink! I am a size 9 and just bought 9.5 dress shoes for a friends wedding in October. I went a half size bigger because the reviews said the shoe runs small. I just got them today and my feet are crammed in the shoe. I'll have 5 months to lose weight so I hope my feet do shrink.
  25. I too am scheduled for May 11th!! Good Luck!!!
