Cannot stand the new update! When I use my PC, it takes 15 minutes to load and the freezes! It's better on the iPad and not very good on the android. Sure hope it gets better soon! I will try to update the new members and dates as soon as I can!

I don't think my NUT told me specifically what to take other than I would need Bariatric Advantage multi for a few weeks after. I have a hard time with vitamins as they make me sick. I can take the gummies with no problem. I can chew them forever until they liquify so I think I will stick with that. From my PCP, I am already on B12 shots and weekly vitamin D and iron. NUT did say I would need calcium supplement forever. Hope that helps.

Is there anyone on here who is a lot more savvy than me on creating documents/templates? I am trying to get things in order, just in case, and would like a Word 2007 or Excel 2007 template for account name, account number, username, password, and hint columns. I'm just not good at that stuff. I looked on microsoft to see if there were any and I didn't see anything already made. Anyone will to whip me up one?

Depending on the shake, they can be around 150 to 200 cal each. So, I think those are the calories. No cleaning out for me before surgery, I think just Clear Liquids the day before with nothing after midnight.

Ugh, so I have to do a 2 week liquid preop afterall! BLah My "liquids" inlcude: 8 oz Gatorade 6 oz light yogurt SF applesauce fruit chillers SF pudding cups 8 oz Protein drink with milk twice a day. I'm supposed to "eat" every 2 hours something from that list! "Free beverages" that I can have unlimited throughout the day Water Crystal light Wyler's Light Diet Snapple SF Jell-O broth coffee and Tea (sugar substitute) and any calorie free beverage. They were trying to tell me I had to drive up there (an hour each way) to buy the Bariatric Advantage from them for $70. I emailed the NUT and said Premier Protein was equal in nutritional values, cheaper and 1 mile away. She said that was fine but if I did Premier Protein, to have 3 a day OR I could use the Body Fortress Super Advanced whey Protein from WalMart and only 2 a day. Fun, fun!!

Congrats!! I know what you mean about not getting too excited. I was very worried about my upper GI so once that was clear, huge sigh of relief and made everything very real!

So I finally saw my PCP. I had seen her last in June and my hubby changed jobs in July. So we've been without insurance until his new insurance kicked in Nov. 1. At my last visit with her, she suggested looking into the surgery due to aches and pains creeping up. She didn't know that since not seeing her, I had already found a surgeon and completed EVERYTHING before seeing her again! Luckily I don't have to change any of my meds, they are not extended release. I did ask her about the flu shot. She said that of course she is a big proponent of the flu shot but since I've never had one and sometimes people have a reaction to them, she is actually suggesting I NOT have the flu shot before surgery. I don't have kids and am not at a high risk for getting it, so thank goodness, I didn't want one! I'm always low on iron and I take 3 prescription iron a day regigiously and it's still low. I asked about getting an iron infusion since I'm sure post op it will probably be worse and she said there were big side effects for an iron infusion and that was a last resort! Ugh. I'm losing my hair preop (I was ok with losing it post op) and really feel this iron thing might be contributing. She drew blood again Friday and said she had to see what the numbers are before further recommendations. Other than that, she was really excited. Oh, I was also glad that she agreed to help manage my pain meds. I typically have terrible recoveries from procedures as regular pain meds just don't work for me. Heavy duty pain meds have to be picked up (not faxed to pharmacy) and the surgeon's office is an hour away! She said it was okay with her if my surgeon's office contacted her about pain med prescriptions and she would happily write them for me. She even gave me her nurse's "back number" for them to reach directly. Her office is only 1.5 miles away! Whew... I actually have anxiety in general. I noted up there a page or two back that I had been doing ridiculously well in that regard. However, fast forward to about 2 days ago, panic is setting in! I expected that, though. It will be a quick month with Thanksgiving and trying to get Christmas in order before surgery, so I know the time will go by super fast! I can't wait for the initial 20-30 pound drop after surgery. I'm really hoping that eases up some aches and pains. Up until Jan of this year, I was pretty active. This year terrible knee issues. I know that once I can get out and walk, hike, etc., that will also help with the anxiety! It's all one big circle, isn't it? Everything is connected. Anyway, those are my thoughts and updates for today!

I don't think it's ready yet.

I think it is being shut down BUT we really shouldn't notice it. They are moving everything over for us. Right now there are separate pages for the different surgies such as Vertical Sleeve Talk, Lap Band Talk, etc. They are combining all of them to one site called Bariatric Pal. However, there will still be areas that are separate for each procedure but also places where everybody with ANY of the procedures can interact. Does that help?
