I'm glad I spotted this topic! I have lost 15# after the fill and feel like a failure. I don't have any reasons except, I have not changed my lifestyle. I was hoping this would MAKE it so I couldn't overeat. I need some help here. Surgery was 3 months ago. The Dr thinks my band is at the right place and so do I as I still struggle w/ food getting stuck. I need to learn how to eat right. After the liquids for so long I went crazy tasting all the good food. Somehow the sweet carbs don't get stuck! I am hoping the Dr will refer me to a dietician or someone to help me. I so hoped I would be off this shaming rollercoaster with the surgery.

So, I had my EKG done on Friday and my PCP said it was 'abnormal'. Something about the t waves???? I am seeing the cardiologist on the 22nd. Does anyone know what I should expect?
Thanks for any light you can shed on this.
Stacey
My EKG was Abnormal but I passed the stress test and had the surgery. The nurse said she always has abnormal EKG and it's nothing to worry about.

what a strong woman you are! You will have a good life. You know how far the decision to take care of ourselves goes. Like you, I took a "pre-emptive strike' against all the ailments that go along with obesity. Thank God we have this chance!

I was banded 12/6. Doing great!

Had my surgery 12/7 and the night after I prayed all night I could keep up my end by eating right. I really want to loose weight. I also told everyone and they have been so supportive I want to be a success for them too. But I know I have a problem with food as my reason to live and now I need to think of other things to live for. One is God. I need to be the person I was created to be. Other things I like are card games, music and I hope soon to pick up dance lessons.
All I used to do is go out and eat. My friends suggested we meet at a bookstore or Starbucks instead of cafe's.
So the surgery is over and the work is now begun!
Let's keep on keeping on!

I was banded monday 12/7. On full liquids today. I know what you mean by all the sweet stuff! My friend got a Soup from a mex cafe and strained it for me and she ate the other stuff. It was so good!!! Yeah, her stuff looked good, but I really want to loose weight.
I have found peppermint tea in the am great for the stomach upset. It is just saying, "hey what's going on? I was way bigger a couple days ago!"
I am glad I told people as they are calling and coming over to see how I am doing. It makes me feel SO good!

hey KC! I'm scheduled for Dec 6 also!! I'm out of town next week so I'm already getting people set up to "sit" with me the first 3 days. Still excited, scared hasn't had a chance yet. Probably when I get wheeled into the operating room!

I just have blue cross/blue sheild. Not sure which one. But I have had good luck with them. First consult 10/6 and now approved for surgery 12/6. I hope yours goes smooth too!

I have read this for several months and joined today! I am scheduled for my LBS 12/6/10. My first appointment was 10/6. Fast enough? and to top it off INSURANCE IS PAYING!!! I have a BMI of 35 but health problems.
Also I see this as a God thing! I would not have known about the health problems if I didn't go on a mission trip.
I have really liked finding answers to my questions on this site. Looking forward to meeting you all!

Getting back on track?

I saw my Dr yesterday. He assured me I have not failed, but "refining" my ability to use the lapband. I lost 1# in 6 weeks! He added .5cc and now it seems I can't eat anything! (Well, maybe I will loose some weight!) My oatmeal got stuck today! So I struggled and chewed. Most things got stuck. I probably got 1/2 cup of food down. Hard day! Going on vacation next week. Maybe I will loose some weight!
Let's hang in there and REFINE our skills!
