I have 2 in my lower back and was just curious if anyone else had them and if it gets better? I'm 2 weeks out and down 35 pounds since Jan. and I think I can tell a difference.

I'm released for raw veggies at 8 weeks, not that far yet so not sure if it will be ok or not:)

I'm almost 2 weeks post-op and drink skim milk without any problems.

Thanks for sharing. I'm going on the hunt for these because I've been craving that flavor!

Hey everyone! I had surgery on May 4th. I was very lucky not to have any bad side effects, including no gas pains which I think I was dreading the most. In hindsight, I think having a previous horrible c-section experience made this surgery much easier. I am also on a post-op diet that some of you might want to kill me for. Since day 6 I have been allowed a soft Protein diet, skipping the puree food altogether. My nut. Said my teeth were my blender. I was nervous at first, but haven't had any problems. It is so crazy only being able to eat half an egg then feel stuffed! For me, I struggle most with not being able to drink while eating and not being able to put much food in my mouth. I was a fast, high volume eater before and having to relearn the sleeve way of eating is a challenge with each meal. I hate shakes post-op and am not getting in enough protein...need to work on that. Down 17 pounds since surgery but tapering off now. Oh, anyone else get a period that they weren't expecting? Ugh, 2 weeks early and BAD!

Thanks everyone!!!

Is this an over the counter thing?

Somewhere there's a terrifying post about coconut forming a ball in the stomach for months. Absolutely terrifying. Totally supported my bias that coconut was not meant to be eaten.
Just read that post...YIKES!

That's awesome. Hey, maybe someday I'll be able to wear a dress without smearing deodorant on my inner thighs...oh the beauty of being fat!

I had the SF Russell Stovers Coconut candies, and I did fine. Only have one because sugar alcohols can give you killer gas pains. Good luck to you.
How far post-op are you?

Just sent my hubby to the store for some sf coconut cream pie pudding. I think a couple of bites will curve my craving. Man, those bars were so good but it will just have to go on the "no way" list. Im scared now!

Oh wow, that sucks! Guess I'll stick with some sf pudding and ff cool whip for my " fix.". Thanks and hope you don't have bad dreams tonight.

I've heard that this can be one of those things that are difficult to get down early on...if ever. I love it and am dying to have a bite of a dark chocolate Atkins coconut Protein Bar. Would love your experience with coconut.

Just talked to nurse and she said the darker colored stool blood is normal. 2min. Before she called, I started a full on period so that makes me feel better. Still going to lie low today. So used to taking ibuprofen for period cramps but going to have to use Tylenol.
Thanks all!

I'm 8 days post and can do the same thing, but getting more than a Tbsp. of egg down is totally a different story!
Full liquids this long??

I really feel for you. I was eating soft Proteins at day 6, and anything I wanted by 4 weeks since I wasn't having any issues. It is strange how there are such drastic differences!
