    Thanks for those ideas. I am going to try a liquid start here and do that chew and stop thing too Ralph. These may help. This is so much harder than I expected. Keep those ideas coming. Thank God for you wonderful folks!!

    I am flying to Seattle ( six hours) and wonder about how that effects the band. Should I have a small unfill? What is your experience? Thanks
  3. I am 6 months out from being banded.. and I have only lost around 30 pounds. I feel like a huge failure! I am doing what I thought was right.. but I still get very very hungry at times and I know eat more than I should but I keep it to Protein if I can... I am working much harder than I thought! I have had 5 fills!! I have about 8.5CC in a 14 CC band... I thought I would be down so much more! the scale does not budge. I have yogurt ( greek) for Breakfast... some greens with Tuna or chicken for lunch with lemon juice... and then protein ( chicken, turkey or fish) and vegs for dinner.. and very tiny amount of Carbs... like a spoon full. I get really hungry after dinner!! I have a little high Fiber Cereal and skim milk... I drink tea..decafe... with splenda.. I just have not dropped in a couple months. Not a pound... I am starting to think this band is not working for me... Anyone ever have success after a very long plateau? What jump started you....? give me some hope... or otherwise advise...

    Yesterday was much better... thanks! Now.. if I can just drop a pound and that will make it all good... No scale till the weekend... I get discouraged... I made a bunch of hard boiled eggs and that will be my "snacks"... I get really hungry in the evening.. ... I stepped up the calorie free liquids... Did seem better.... I want this band to work for me.... I did not realize it would still take so much work to not be hungry..and still lose... trying... and trying... thanks for the support... it really made a difference...

    Well I can say the Fiber one in the yogurt did make it not slide on me... and I felt fuller... I am trying to drink more... I will keep this up and see... the hunger is better today..! You folks know your stuff...

    I just packed Breakfast and lunch. I am going to try some fiber cereal in my yogurt. Maybe do eggs tomorrow and see if this hunger get less. Lunch I added greens and some no added sugar fruit. Thanks for those ideas. I just need to be less hungry and have a few pounds drop. Idk just get frustrated. Thanks all of you for the support. Yes they say it is slow. But I am standing still so I will change it up. See what happens.

    Very discouraged.. and worried

    I have been getting fills thorugh this.. seems like my restriction varies... at first I have some then I lose it. I have been trying to be low carb... but I wonder if the "density" of the Protein matters? For example, I have a greek yogurt ( Chobani... 140 cals) in the morning.. say 9:00 and I am ready to eat my desk by 11:00 Tuna or chicken for lunch is better.. but I do 3 oz and many times... I still feel really hungry. So I will drink lots of decafe tea ( after an hour)... broth .. anything... I will try to just keep up on my fills... and I may also need a "liquid diet" jump start... I think I will try that.... It is just discouraging... I will keep trying... I guess.. I thought the band would keep the hunger away much more than is has... that is all... it is physical hunger.. tummy growling.. empty feeling... not head... I have that as well and I really work hard against that... Thanks for the advise... I love this board...

    Discouraged

    I could have written the exact words. I am really down about my slips and gained a few pounds. I just got a fill last week and hope it helps. So far I don't feel any more restriction. Maybe it will kick in next week. I hope I can turn this around.

  10. I was banded 5 months ago and I have only lost 30 pounds. Have had 4 fills but I can't seem to consistently lose. I find I get hungry and will eat more than I should. I am thinking about the 5 day pouch test. I just feel very discouraged. I think I should be droping faster. :-(.

    Thanks... I do compare myself to fast losers.. today I am going to try to be really dilligent. I am doing a good protein shake this morning and greek yogurt for Lunch.. fish and veg for dinner. Maybe Greek yogurt is a slider? is it? perhaps tuna would be better? Maybe I can jump start myself. I just feel like I should be further along... but maybe this is the nature of the band.. eh? Your encouragement and suggestions really help :thumbup: thanks ...
  12. I was banded on may 27 and I am at 7.2 as well. 30 pounds but only about 18 since being banded. I feel restriction finally. But I understand. It is not that easy! It is so frustrating!!!!

    Drinking During Meals

    I only sometimes sip if I need it.. but one thing that has helped me is rinsing my mouth out after the meal. I would crave water!!! and so I just take a small sip.. and rinse... I know people who say that when they stop drinking when they eat.. they lose better... you stay full longer... and feel better. It is dam hard.. I know it! try the rinse.. see if that helps...
  15. I feel your pain! Been having the same struggle.. However, I just got a fill last week that seems to be helping... It was my 4th fill.. so.. I am guessing I needed to get to this level. I just hope it stays..... But just know you are not alone!
  16. Wondering if I am too tight or if I should wait? It's three days since my fill and solids are very hard to eat even oatmeal. I hiccup all the time. I don't know if this will pass or if I need to call. How long before things settle? This is the first time this has happened.

    That is good to know. She always say soft diet for three days or so but it feels odd. I will just take that advise and go slower if I still have this feeling Monday I will call. Too many hiccups as well! Even with only water. Thanks!

    I am with you on that!!! They love failure because they are LAZY... can't deal with change!!! they want to say.. "well I will stay fat.. nothing works" Wayne Gretsky said " you will Fail at 100 percent of the shots you DON'T take.." We at least are taking a shot!
  20. One more... I get Chobani greek yogurt.. plain fat free.. and add sugar free pudding... ( Pistachio.. cheesecake) it will become thick.. and you are getting a protein treat!
  21. My absolute favorite is Chobani Peach yogurt... I find it in Target stores or you can hit the Chobani website and see where it is near you... I think I am eating cheesecake! it is very rich and fantastic... I also like Campbells Bean with bacon soup.. I puree it and top it with plain chobani yogurt.. put a little salsa in there... if you like.. make it like a bean burritto... Those are my favorite puree style high protein foods.. Good luck!     Vacation unfill?

    I just had a very difficult fill (25 minutes of digging) anyway my fill PA told me that when I go on my 12day cruise in 4 months she will empty my band so I should not have any problems. Has any one done this? If so is it hard to get refilled?? Just wonder about your advise on this. I am 4 months out and only 30 lbs down. Thanks
