I felt fine after the surgery, I actually came home the same day! There was a little soreness at the incision sites, especially where the port is. I was a bit sleepy for a few days, but thats it.
It'll be over before you know it and you will do great! Good luck to you all!

Hi HELP!! I wanted to respond to your post in hopes that I might be able to help you. I understand your frustration. I told my Dr he now needed to develope a band for my brain because I too figured out yet another way to sabotage my weight loss efforts. I will finish this post if it gets to you. It has been a long time since I've been on this site and I have fallen from grace recently and am on my way back. Respond back so that I know I'm doing this right and I'll let you know what's working for me. Live With Passion!
Sheila you are so right! I need a band for my brain! Ive heard it called "head hunger" and its probably more driving (for me) than actual physical hunger. Suppose its called emotional eating.
NWGirl...No I haven't been, or I should say in the past I have been but if any of them could figure out why I eat so much and was able to help he/she would be RICH because I would tell everyone! I do think its all about your inner voice.
Thanks again all!

Thank you everyone for responding and giving me ideas. I haven't been back to the doctor in a while. Last time I was there I had been bringing stuff up fairly frequently but I refused to have it loosened. I think I did myself harm in doing that...because I couldn't eat properly I started drinking calories, often in the form of milkshakes etc. I am going to schedule an appointment with my doc ASAP and see if he can loosen it slightly...then do full liquids to shrink the pouch. Thanks for all the help everyone!

I feel exactly the same way! I haven't gained back but haven't lost anything besides the initial 31 pounds. I feel like a complete failure too! I've learned to "eat around" the band...

Help! I have unfortunately learned to "eat around" the band and have stopped losing weight. Ive only lost about 31 pounds in 1 1/2 years and because I have figured out a way to cheat...I do! There is a reason I am overweight in the first place. Does anyone have words of wisdom/inspiration that might help?

Oh you will know the stuck feeling! I agree...its about mid chest. I have been having lots of problems with this lately and have started having back pains because of it. I think I might be overfilled. Calling Doc tomorrow.

Hello Marcy!
I had my surgery yesterday too! I was curious if I had gained anything and jumped on the scale only to find that yes...I gained 3 pounds! I do think its from all the trauma and fluids we were given. Also, my Fluid "output" isn't that great right now either. I wonder if you or others have had a similar experience with that?
I am so glad to have this forum to hear other peoples experiences.

I should be banded in early December too! I am really excited and as you can see from my name I am ready for a NewBee --new me. I have only told my husband, mother and one friend. I really don't want it to go further than that but I am trying to figure how I will hide my eating pureed food over the holiday. I suppose I could pretend my stomach hurts or something and not eat....
I hope we all can chat about our experience as Dec10 group!
Restaurant Recipes Secrets, Modified For Bandsters

Steve you really should make this available in a PDF book! It is awesome and I love the way you modify ordinary foods to tast great for us Bandsters! One thing I really miss is a good burger especially the Red Robin Royal Burger (cheese burger with a fried egg on top). I discovered that a nice home made black bean burger with cheese, an egg wrapped in iceberg lettuce is a really close substitute! It wouldn't be an every day meal, but when I am craving a yummy burger this does the trick.
Thanks for your posts...I love reading them!
