  1. I would gather all the documents you have and get an attorney...fast.
  2. For me it was clear liquids for the first week....creamy liquids the 2nd week then thick liquids following up finally with mushies on January 1 after being banded on 12/9
  3. I would be surprised if you invest the time and energy to your band if you don't change your mind....
  4. I was self pay .. It was less than 2 months from initial consult to surgery. I had to do a psych eval, meet with nutritionist, get blood work and do a two week liquid diet....
  5. Just posted the latest pic... swelling is going down but bruising is still pretty apparent....
  6. They want to make sure there are no medical reasons not to do it...thus the blood work... Nothing to worry about.
  7. Someone said that to me today. I was back at work ...granted I was at home but I could do my job in a closet and no one would notice...LOL. Any way I was on the phone with one of my employees and she asked how I was recovering from my surgery... She doesn't know it's nature..but anyway I told her I was really surprised at how well I was doing albet I would like to feel a little less tired....but she said...well happy people get good results. It got me to thinking.... And of course there are exceptions to this rule of thumb...but do you believe it?
  8. You have just gone through surgery, had a medical device implanted, drank liquids for heavens knows how long...and made it through the holidays....... Give yourself a break. What you are feeling is buyers remorse and once the weight starts coming off.... You will be so pleased with the results. In the meantime let your mind and body heal.....
  9. I am past where you are but I am very excited for you.... It's the first step towards your new life. I remember feeling the excitement and could not wait to get started..... Congratulations,
  10. Everything worth having is worth the wait and effort! Congrats!
  11. Congratulations on taking the first step. I wish you well on your journey!
  12. I got my first fill at 2 months. That offered me enough restriction to make it through 2 more months before the next fill. I was fortunate... I never really had bandster hell unless I all of a sudden I needed a fill and had to wait for an appointment. I believe however that because I followed the portion sizes and counted calories my body got used to that amount of food and my body was satisfied even when i felt I needed restriction.
  13. No..and I do not advise it. If it were ok your dr would have told you to start mushies early. Your stomach is healing after having a foreign object placed around it. Eating food right now could do some serious damage, please wait until your dr gives you the green light.
  14. You are doing great Rhonda! Keep it up!
  15. Mine is painless.... I wouldnt even know it unless I watched the needle go in...which I try to avoid...LOL
  16. I didnt have it but my Dr said it was very common..... best wishes to you!
  17. hilarious...my mother said to tell me that ALL the time... Tanned fat looks better than white fat...thanks for reminding me. LOL As for the too thin comments I am getting them too and its driving me nuts. I have 7 more lbs to lose....believe me I am not withering away..... I think people say it to make themselves feel better....

Wow.... I would kill not to like as many foods as I do... But since being banded.... I can take 'em or leave them... Congrats on your success!
  19. Its funny and sad but my surgeon asked me at my first consult if I was in a strong marriage... was I ever thin in the marriage....basically preparring me that as I changed so might others perceptions... My husband and I discussed it and were prepared for it when it first happened. Beacause you will get oogled and unwanted advances from others. But as long as you are strong to your core and are firm in your responses you should be fine. In fact now my husband will say...come on... lets go show you off. And he doesnt mean it in a nasty or unusual way... but I think he is just proud of me and wants to share that. He knows who he is going home with.... so do I. As for your relatives and friends... I might pull them aside and explain how their comments make you uncomfortable and ask them to stop. You can do it in a nice way and if they dont get it... then maybe you dont need to associate with them.
  20. you are welcome to look at my gallery at my pics. I didnt NEED to get it done for any reason other than I couldnt stand looking at the skin.... I was a size 8 before the tt and am still a size 8.
  21. Mis said it well and let me add.... you ARE a modal bandster because you arent letting it get out of control... you are only up a few pounds... you will lose it in no time. Before the band it would just keep creeping back up.....
  22. My Dr required no carbonation so its not an option for me. He feels its greatly will do damage to the band. However I cannot see how you could lose weight drinking sugary soda unless you count it as part of your calories count. And since most bandsters in the losing stage will be between 1000-1200 calories... that would be a big chunk of it. I might revisit this with your dr.
  23. so glad you are doing well. you look fab!! I am doing well too...just still get tired more quickly then usual but hopefully time will heal that
  24. But the difference in pre band and post band is although we can have days like this...but they do not last. As you are feeling today you will get moving, sweat it out, go back to healthy band sizes portions and end the cycle. Whereas pre band.... today would be another day of heavy eating and the cycle continued..and we got fatter and fatter. Great job!!
