1. Happy 1 year anniversary everyone!!! Hope this 1 anniversary finds you very close to your goals and that everyone has been happy of the decision made a year ago. I definitely am, very happy of this change in my life. I feel reborn! My lapband anniversary is 8/26/12 and I will be down 72lbs!!! Congratulations everyone!!!

  2. You guys are great motivators! I enjoy reading your comments and achievements. I can't believe how much weight you guys have lost. I've lost 57 lbs. Started at 221 down to 164. It's such a scary feeling. Because I can't remember when I've ever been so thin. I get a lot of compliments and it feels good. But I really need to step my game up and start exercising. I'm usually from one extreem to the next, and I've been a couch potatoe for a long time. I just joined a boot camp for 10 days in a month of pure hell. I'm looking forward to it. LOL!! Hopefully my messed up knees could keep up with it. I'm really happy with my lapband even though is so difficult to get my food down. I have problem eating meat and rough solid food. Not just because I feel it gets stuck. But also because I feel it burning thru my esophogus. I made an appt. with my gastroenterologist and hopefully he can tell me what's wrong. But besides that I'm doing good. I'm very happy that most of all of us, have not had any significant complications with the band and hopefully we never will. Congradulations to you all A11!! Please keep posting :D

  3. Hi everyone!!

I've been away for a bit.. Been having tons of cravings, after my birthday on 3/19. It's been none stop. I will eat bad food and after 3 hrs. I want more bad food. I went yesterday to my support group, and my nurse practitioner said my band must be loose and I will need and adjustment. So this morning at 10:45amI got .3cc on my band. A total now of 3.8cc. My last fill was 1/23/12. As always the first day is liquids. I started fine, but then I had shrimp and Pasta dinner (4oz) about and hour ago and still craving more!! I don't know what to do!! I feel I might be loosing this battle ???°

  4. Hi Ms. Lady, I went thru the same issue as you and when i went to get a fill they would not give it to me.

Today is my 5 month anniversary since the surgery and the weight lost has slowed down drastically. I was loosing so fast and now just lost 4 lbs. In a month. It has depress me a little. The only change I've made, is eating Snacks between meals. Because I've been feeling hungry more often. Have any of you feel the same way or having similar issues?

  5. Hello everyone! Happy New Year!! Hope everyone had a great holiday and we all made out thru ok.

GG- I'm glad you doing well.

Ms. Lady- Just wanted to let you know I went thru the same episodes of throwing up thick saliva. It used to happen when I over eat and eat to fast. It happen to me in the car, good thing I had a cup. I'm so sorry to read what happen to you at the consession counter.

Jess527- Congradulations on your pregnancy! I wish you the best of luck!!

CarynW- I reallly admire your strength with sweets. I bought right after the holidays a tub of blue bunny Icecream and everynight, before I go to bad I eat around 3 teaspoons. Last night was just a little left that I almost licked the tub dry!! But by reading your determination. I will make a promise of also not eating anymore icecream.... well... until summer time. whistle.gif

I've reached my sweetspot/green zone on Dec. 25th! Since then I have only been able to eat 2 to 3oz. and lost 6lbs. since then. I'm have lost a total of 40Lbs. I was do for a fill on Jan. 3rd and my doctor congradulated me and told me I didn't need one. I'm scheduled for an adjustment in Feb. if in case I need it. Don't get me wrong I fluctuate 2lbs up and down. But I rather loose it slow then quickly. I will also not deprive myself of what I enjoy eating. I just eat 2oz of it now, compare to eating 2Lbs. of food. I take all my meds and Vitamins and drink as much liquids as possible.

I also had a NSV moment when I picked up a pair of jeans left behind the bathroom door and they where tight! I got scared that I had gained weight over night, and when I tooked them off found out that they where my daughter's size 8 jeans!! I was absolutely extatic! I'm almost fitting with my 21 yr. old daughter's clothes! She isn't going to like the sound of that.rolleyes5.gif

  6. Hey everyone! Hope you all doing well on this difficult time of the tempting Holiday Eating time. Is been very difficult for me. I feel that the .2cc I got before Thanksgiving didn't do much because since then I can't stop craving food. I can eat without any problem and been eating more then 4oz. I gain 3Lbs. since then. Ughh!boom.gif Is so upsetting, to be sooo tempted by food and giving in! I haven't been exercising because my schedule is book solid between work, kids, school, homework, errances. That when I have a few hours of breathing time, I space out in front of the t.v. I really hope I can make thru to January with out gaining anymore weight. My next fill is in January 4th, that's 6 wks with out a fill sad.png . There is a question I want to ask you ladies. I apologize to the men in this forum. But my menstruation stopped since my surgery on 8/26 and haven't seen it since. Have any of you had that problem?

  7. Ms. Lady hope to hear back from you and that your procedure went well. Please let us know how you are doing.

I'm so happy to see that most of your ticker's have reach their 30lbs. lost mark. I just reach mind today and I'm very excited to join the club! LOL!

Tomorrow I will be going for my 3rd fill. I know I would not get a lot of cc's but's is ok. Congradulations everyone. You encourage me everytime I stop by.

  8. Hi guys! My weights has also been fluctuating 2 to 3 lbs. When I weight myself. But two things that I think to not be discourage. 1) I would have never lost 26lbs on my own in three months and 2) the quicker I loose weight the higher the possibility of my skin to hang. So I'm happy with my process, and hoping next summer I reach my goal.

I was talking to my skinny coworker about a meeting she attended. Where a woman guest speaker who came to give a speech at our Women's network. When this lady was talking about her personal life and how fat she was and said she was a size 12 ( and did wide hand gestures)  and now she is very proud of being a size 8, everyone was so moved, that they started applauding!! She stared at me, that I was getting upset. I said, first of all a size 12 is not a big size, (and i did the wide hand space gesture) because that is the size that I am now after being a size 18. So for me that us not fat! She tried to make me feel better by telling me what I need to eat to loose weight! The nerve of some people! They think they have the right to tell me what I need to do. Like I don't know! Yeash!!!

  9. Good morning everyone, we are expecting a huge storm here in NYC, but it never stops us from partying! Lol. Halloween is very much celebrated here and most adults dress up. So it should be a blast!!

I went for my unfill yesterday evening. I explain how uncomfortable it was for me to drink Water and not able to eatany mushy food. My nurse said we will need to take out .7cc. That will set my second fill from 1.7cc to 1cc making it a total of only 3cc in my 10cc band. She told me to keep my next appt on 11/21/11, but wrote on my file that future fills will not be more then .5cc. She said everyone is different with the band adjustments, and most likely I will loose the wait without needing large quantity of CCs in my band. I ask her if I need to be in liquids and mushy for 24 hrs.? But she said only soft solids. But I barely could eat anything last night without having that heavy chest feeling. Lets see how it will feel today. Wish me luck!!

  10. Congradulations Healthywoman! under 190 must be exciting! I weight myself everyday too. right before taking a shower after using the toilet. I can't help it.. I don't get upset if one day is 1 pound over. I know is my body adjusting to the weight. Jess527- My nurse tells me 24 hrs of liquids and 24hrs. of mushie as well. But it's been 4 days since my 2nd fill and I can't bearly eat or drink anything without it getting stuck! I had to call the office and ask her to unfill my band. I told her we need to come into a sensible agreement on how much she should take out. ;)

  11. Thanks GG for recommending the book. I think it will really help all of us in our journey

FYI I called my nurse practitioner, and I'm throwing in the white towel for this fight. I'm going in tomorrow and take at least .2cc out of my band. I barely can drink without getting hiccups and i just threw up from drinking only 2oz of Water. Hopefully this means my band is to tight and i might be really close to my sweet spot. Wishful thinking!

  12. Thank you so much for the information Jess. I had my surgery done on 8/26 I've lost 24lbs. in 8wks. post op. I had my second fill yesterday 1.7cc making it a total of 3.7cc on a 10cc band. My nurse practictioner and I where hagling on how much I should get. By the time she put the 2cc I thought that I won the argument. But when I started drinking the Water, it got stuck!!. So she took .4cc out. :( .Since I left the office, anytime I drink something I'm getting the hickups! I don't know if is because my band is still to tight. I really don't want to go back to the office and take more cc's out of my band. Before my second fill, I was eating High fatty foods again. I'm so scared of going back to my bad habits :..(

  13. I just had my first fill. It wasnt so bad. Whoever said it compares to getting an IV was right on. My doctor says I now have 3 cc's. He also did an ultrasound and checked the band and my liver. Says everything looks great. I was really surprised because I havent thought I had been losing any weight. They said I lost over 4 pounds since my last appointment!! That made me so happy! :D So for the rest of the evening I am supposed to be on liquids only. He says I can start eating regular again tomorrow morning. My doctor almost didnt want to give me a fill because I lost weight. I made sure to tell him how hungry I get between meals. I have to be in a wedding in 3 weeks and I am really hoping for the scale to get moving!! Sending happy weight loss thoughts to you all! :P

  14. Hi everyone, I'm so happy that everyone is doing so well, and that they are adapting to their fills. I enjoy very much reading everyone's comment and compare them to my own situation. Greatly appreciate any advice that you can share to my situation. I had my surgery on 8/26 and on my first week on liquids I lost 15 Lbs. then 2 Lbs. the second week. Now that I'm 4 weeks post up I gain 3 Lbs. and I don't understand how. I barely can keep anything down without getting stuck and I'm always starving. I've been putting some food in the processor and eating it like a Soup. I'm supposed to go for my first fill on 9/26. But don't understand how that is going to work. If my problem my food getting stuck midway and always feeling hungry after an hour of eating a meal. I'm also eating more then 4oz. as I'm not measuring anymore (is soo time consuming) I must be eating at least 8oz in each meal.

  15. Hi everyone, Not used to the posting on the site. Does anyone know how to the take the dublicates out? lol! But just wanted to congradulate everyone for their great job. I've been reading everyones post and is has motivated me in this journey we are facing together. Since my surgery on 8/26 I've already lost 13lbs. But then again I'm in liquids and my stomach is still healing. I'm not sure until when I will be still in liquids, but like most of you is not fun and it has become very tyring. I believe they said a week in liquids so most like by Saturday 9/3. I have my first post op appointment tomorrow 9/1. Is anyone having problems sleeping at night? throat dryness and breathing problems?

  16.
Hey bandsters! Angel here, 25 years old, banded with the Allergan Lap Band on August 26th and am currently 4 days post op. I am doing really well with almost no pain or gas troubles although I am getting really tired of the liquids. I mainly consume cream Soups, gatorade and Jello. I do feel somewhat restricted already as I can't get down more than a cup of Soup at most but I don't know if its the healing process or the band itself (no fill). Is this common? Oh well, one more month to go before I do solids! My starting (and highest weight ever) is 264 lbs - I stand at 5' 7" so that gives me a BMI of nearly 41. Yikes! I am quite determined to lose around 110 lbs so I am focused on following the rules and exercising to get that healthy body we are all after. Using this forum as well as YouTube for motivation and inspiration. There are so many successful bandsters out there with great results, I can't wait to be one of them!

Cheers!
18. Hi my name is Josie, I'm 42 yrs young, and my starting weight was 215 but the day of the surgery on 8/26 I was 221lbs. I just did a small celebration that week of what I wasn't ever going to eat. I am happily divorced and mother of a 21 year old young lady and a 18 year old young man. Right now my biggest issue is not able to take my meds without them getting stuck
