  1. Had my surgery on the 1st, went home the same day. I am still having neck, shoulder, and back pain (from the gas I hope) It mostly happens after I eat. I am on pureed foods now, my doc's guidelines are pretty vague. At 2-3 weeks I can move up to puree. I also have an itching rash on my stomach, I think I'm allergic to the superglue they put on my incisions which are also itching!!! anyone having this problem.

Also how much food is the pouch supposed to hold? ounces? cup? anyone?

  2. Hi Nov. Bandsters! had my surgery on the 1st. I went home the sme day. I have been able to drive since Thursday. That made things much better. I am still having some pain after eating in my shoulder and neck, I think its gas, in the puree stage of eating. Not going to do Protein Shakes for meals anylonger. Remember the idea is to fill up and stay feeling full. If I drink my meal its defeating the purpose.

I'm also have some kind of rash on my stomach that itches. I think I may be having an allergic reaction to the super glue they put on the incisions. Anyone else have this problem? I am itching a lot at the incision sites too :)

  3. So I have started my diet today and I have to say it's not as bad as I thought it was going to be. I thought I was going to be super hungry but in reality I am not and I actually like my shakes with the fat free milk...which you can ask anybody that knows me LaShonda don't drink no darn milk.lol. But everything here is going good...so in a couple of days I will let you all know if I am ready to kill myself with out food...lol...Plus I wanna drop 25 pounds during my liquid so i have incorporated 30 mins of exercise in everyday!!!!YAY

13 days until I get banded

:sneaky:11/9/10 will change my life forever!!!!!!

You can do it! I'm on day 6 of the liquid pre-op (10 day total). In my experience so far day 3 can be rough but its getting easier, espeicially during the day at work, it's a breeze. At home at night on the couch is a bit more challenging especially when my son and hubby are having solid food, but WE can and WE will make it through. Keep up the good work!

  4. Lisa, I am starting my pre-op on Nov.1, though I do not have to start until the 4th. My date is the 11th. But like you, I am eager to get started and get adjusted. My doc requests 7 days of liquids and the day before to be all Clear Liquids. The liquid diet includes shakes, puddings, yogurt and Soups with mushy noodles/rice. I can also have a few saltines if needed too. The nutritionist in the the dr's office created a pre op diet for me to follow. She also created a menu for the 2 week post-op and transtion weeks also. I will do my very best to follow it so I don't get sick or have any problems.

Topazz, I wish I could have saltines, not particularly fond of them but darn they sound like a gourmet meal after 6 days on this pre-op. I am sooooo...ready to get to the other side of surgery.

  5. Hello, My surgery date is November 1st! I am on a 10 day pre-op that I started a day early, guess I am eager to get to the DAY. I am hoping to get some info or others experience with the pre-op diet. I have had a headache for 2 days but am determined to stick it out. My doctors diet sounds more restrictive than others. 10 days of liquids, cottage cheese, about one cup per day, Atkin's shakes 2/day, broth Soups, and juice and No sugar luiquids in any ammount.

I may have cheated tonight I had some egg drop Soup. Any comments on this? I am also really fatigued and not to chipper.:)
