  1. Hello everyone!! We are now only 3 days away! :smile2: Glad to hear everyone is doing so well on their pre-op diets. Mine wasn't as strict so it explains why I've only lost a few pounds. Based on your guys success on the liquids, I'm looking forward to seeing my results after the band and being on the liquids only. Good luck to everyone on surgery day!
  2. Wow 13 pounds is great... good for you!
  3. Congrats! That's great news!!
  4. LOL that's funny!! I am actually one of the lucky ones that still gets to eat one meal a day however I've been making an effort to eat a healthy meal. Today one of my co-workers decides to get french fries and eat them in my office and you know how french fries smell... OMG I was about to kill him! Over all feeling good though. Looking forward to my band and starting a new me.

    Psych eval

I am paying out of pocket so mine was pretty easy. I had a phone consult today and she just asked me some questions. Things like: Are you married Do you have support from your husband Who are your support team Have you gotten any negative comments when telling people you are getting Lap band What was the last stressful event that happened to you How did you handle the stress Have you been diagnosed with any eating disorder How long have you been over weight What is the reason for wanting Lap band Do you have depression or been diagnosed with depression What do you do at work How long have you worked there ETC..... Nothing to be scared or worried about. Hope this helps a little.
  6. I think being nervous is normal for everyone. It's surgery and any kind of surgery is scary! I've been reading the forum here called "Surgery day stories" and that has seemed to help me with the mental part. Doesn't seem quite so bad when other people talk about their experiences on surgery day. Check it out! Take care and good luck to you...
  7. Hello November 10th bandsters! We are officially 1 week away from surgery! How is everyone feeling? I'm so excited and nervous at the same time! Good luck to everyone and look forward to hearing from you guys as the days get closer!
  8. I'm hoping to go home the same day too. They make sure you can get down so many ounces of Water and are able to get up and walk on your own. Based on the forums seems like most people go home within a couple hours!
  9. I was just thinking today how surgery is only 11 days away... can't believe it. So excited and nervous at the same time. I think I'm doing okay with my diet... could be a little bit better but def better then how I used to eat. By the way... what time is everyone's surgery on the 10th? Mine is scheduled at 8am and I have to check into the hospital at 6am. Yikes that's early! :wink2:
  10. Awww so sorry to hear that. You defiantly don't want to put your body through a surgery if you are not 100%! Get lots of rest and hopefully you will get better. Keep us posted!
  11. Don't be so worried about it. If it was easy to lose weight we wouldn't be here. I think that you should just try your best and not worry so much about what's on the scale. Even if you lose 5 pounds it still makes a difference in shrinking your liver and helps for an easier surgery. I think that you should follow your diet... don't weigh yourself... and wait for the doctor office to weigh you. By weighing yourself at home and not seeing what you want to see could discourage you. By the way if you are stressed do you know its impossible to lose weight?? Quit stressing!! Take care and keep us posted!
  12. I've been having a hard time cutting back the caffeine too. I love diet coke... always have to have one... I have been able to cut it back during lunch (not good with slim fast) but still having with dinner. The headaches are not fun but I know i will eventually have to give them up... They aren't good for us anyway! My doctor is asking that I lose 10 pounds prior to surgery... makes the liver shrink some and makes the surgery easier.. but like your doctor i don't think mine would send me back home if I don't. I'm trying my best since i know I will feel better about going into surgery when i know I've prepared my body for it. Good luck to you and keep us posted on how your doing with the prep!! :sneaky:
  13. Hi again FBS! Wow 23 pounds.... that's great! I don't think my diet is as strict as yours but I hope to have lost something by the time i go back in on the 8th. Congrats to you! Keep up the great work... your on your way.. Yahoo! :sneaky:
  14. Hello November 10th bandsters! :sneaky: Just wanted to check in and see how everyone is doing on their pre-op diet (if you started yet). I started mine on Monday so I'm on my 4th day... I'm doing 3 slim fast low carb shakes during the day and 1 meal at dinner time. (trying my best to make sure its a semi healthy dinner) I'm usually very hungry when i get home but once i eat a few bites I feel okay. Have been getting headaches and some weakness but this is because i'm used to eating way more food. For the most part I'm doing okay on it. Let me know how you guys are doing so far!!

    Need Motivation

I'm scheduled for Nov. 10th also! I'm very excited and nervous as well but that is normal with any surgery. Reading the forums and people that have gone through the surgery already has really helped me calm my nerves about it. The 10th falls on a Wed and I am planning to go back to work on Monday. I do office work so nothing labor intensive. I think you need to determine what is good for you because we are all different. You will need to determine when going back to work feels right for you. Good luck to you!
  16. Wow you have a pretty easy pre-op diet! I started mine yesterday... doing okay so far but it's been hard not snacking. Was hungriest yesterday at dinner but I'm sure with time it will get easier. Good luck to you... November 10th is not far away!
  17. I'm excited for November 10th as well. Def feels like it's going to be a great new start for me. :huh2:
  18. Good luck to you too! :smile2:
  19. Hello Everyone! :w00t: I've been reading the forums over the past week and have gotten some great information here. I have to say the process of getting Lap Band has been super quick. I am out of pocket so I know that makes a difference but I'm still shocked. I went to my 1st seminar on October 10th, 2010. Had already decided the surgeon I wanted to use. First appointment was today October 21st. My final pre-op appointment is scheduled for November 8th and my surgery is scheduled for November 10th!! Has anyone else experienced such a fast process? I'm excited and nervous at the same time. Thinking about the surgery is scary!
  20. Thank you! Congrats on losing 37 pounds... That's wonderful! :blushing:
  21. Glad to hear feedback from everyone. Looking forward to November 10th and beginning my journey. Good luck to everyone! :blushing:
  22. Wow your pre-op diet isn't too bad... Lucky you! I'm starting my diet tomorrow too... good luck! :blushing:
  23. Wow Congrats on losing 10 pounds so quickly! :smile2: Tomorrow I get to start my lovely slim fast drinks... I feel lucky to be able to eat at least one meal so it's not as bad as you... Keep up the great work! The 10th will be here before we know it! :blushing:
  24. My surgeon has me doing a pre-op diet 2 weeks before surgery consisting of slim fast low carb shakes 3 times a day and 1 small meal. He said that it helps with some fat around the liver and stomach and makes the surgery easier. He said even losing 10 pounds pre op makes a big difference for him when it comes to the surgery. Starting mine Monday. Not looking forward to it but going to try my best! :w00t:
