  2. I "rebanded" on 10/26 due to a slippage - after 2 1/2 years on band, had the misfortune of needing a revision - original lost 130 lbs - but gained 50 plus back after slippage as Dr required band to drained - long story short - I'm doing the whole liquid diet thing again - I hate it - was pretty good first couple days - liquid, but, kind of sneaky with full liquids and an occasion small taste of Peanut Butter - my doc is requiring long time liquid diet - can not handle it any longer, as matter of fact, night before my surgery, I ate like a pig knowing I was going back to LAP-BAND® land - my dr. gave me quite the lecture after the surgery when it was discovered - anyway, amazing, I feel so much better after this surgery than the 1st, no gas pain, no pain at all - but, now, day 7, I want something of substance to eat - what to do? I don't want my doctor catching me twice at cheating with food - Dr Oh in Federal Way, WA is great, but, very straight forward - tells you like it is - quote - "well, you don't follow the rules, you will be fat again, fatter!

I'm sorry about the band slippage that would be hard. As for the liquid my doctor has me on full liquids which includes cream Soups they fill me up quickly, I put peanut butter in shakes because having only 200 calories a day was draining me. I was told anything that fits through a straw. I dont really mind drinking my meals i did the slim fast thing forever. But to get full quickly i add Unjury Protein to my 4 oz shake first thing in the morning and that keeps me going until 1 or 2 in the afternoon. For lunch i have 1/2 cup of cheddar Soup or anyother cream soup. some cream soup i have to run through the food processor, like the cream of chicken and mushroom. at night i have a shake 4 oz or another soup. this is the first time in a long time that i have been able to feel full on only about 1 1/2 cup of food! i'm really excited about it and have been losing one pound a day! So dont give up and dont cheat, i dont know how you would be able to anyways i get full really fast.

  3. pizza soda are no no's! i would be afraid of what that would do to my band and body. I wouldnt want to have a surgery to have the band removed because i overate or something got stuck. even with little restriction you can still stretch the small pouch. you've come to far to give up now! Think of all the money, time and effort it takes to even make it as far as you have! you can do it just make better choices right now. and everyone doesnt follow it perfect i'm sure but it's nice to at least try and know you did try.

  4. I would get rid of the candy i made sure when i gave it out it was all gone by the end of the night. as for the kids candy it's like stealing from them so i dont. and i'm trying to get them to eat it quickly or take it to school and give away.

think of the hassel it is to get lapband. it's a serious surgery that cost a lot of money. you have to go through the first couple of weeks drinking nothing but stuff like Protein Shakes and broth. and if you think about it, we all have problems with following any diet so this took a lot of self control which you were able to do. so this is just a mild mishap and do better today and tomorrow and days after. i think of kit kats getting stuck in the port that would stop me along with all the other candy i like during this time.

Dont let the time and effort put into the lapband go to waste! it's to much work for that

  5. I got my surgery on October 25th and it has been a rough road. The gas has been really bad. The only way I can explain it is my stomach is in a constant state of upset. Can't tell if it is hunger, full, or just swelling. I can only take about 2 ounces. Today is the first day that I can sit up for any length of time without having to lay back down. Walk, walk, walk. Don't stop taking in liquids. It will get better!

How do you get all your Water and shakes in one day?

  6. Hello, I got my band on yesterday, my stomach is sore and my mouth is dry. I do get the coughing and I still have drainage. I am just so sore and is worried about not being to return to work on Tuesday. I also see were people were put on an oz restriction I did not and I am wondering if that is were some of my pain is coming from? I look forward to this journey and good luck to us all. God Bless:tongue_smilie:

It's been rough for me too. I dont have any coughing and have to force myself to cough per doctors orders. I do this by holding a pillow to my stomach and coughing as hard as i can which isnt hard. it's important to get that stuff up from your lungs. I had the surgery on thursday and it's sunday and i'm still on the couch for the most part. i get up to walk around and make my shakes but i stay down. i'm in a lot of pain and the port site is starting to really hurt depending on what position i'm in or how i move. if i dont turn or sit up really straight my port side doesnt hurt as much. I can only take a few ozs an hour. Water is going down easier today and i still have room for the Protein shakes. i'm still not up to 64oz and i dont think i will ever be able to do that. I would have to be up drinking and sipping 24/7. i drink my Water with a spoon until my stomach feels uncomfortable, i eat my shakes with a spoon and go very slowly. once i feel full i stop. the point is to not make the stomach work to hard so take it SLOW. i find i think i'm really really hungry and after a few sips of shake i'm full. hope this helps

  7. I finally went in yesturday for surgery at 1:15 pm! when i work i felt so sick to my stomach and in a lot of pain. they gave me something for it and than i couldnt keep my eyes open so they kept me over night. my left side hurt a lot where the port is and my left shoulder was hurting too. i seriously dont understand how some people leave the same day of the surgery. I can only drink 4 ounces at a time and even that feels like i'm too full. my stomach is still upset a little and i have stopped drinking anything. i'm not sure why this is since the band isnt tightened at all. my temperature is a little high and i'm suppose to cough a lot and take really deep breaths and the coughing hurts but holding a pillow to my chest area helps. and i have to get up and move around every few hours.

  8. I have tri-care prime and I didnt have to have a six month diet plan. Didnt have to many issues with them and was approved within a week of submiting. You do need to be 100lbs overweight and they measure what your frame should be with your elbow. so i'm a medium frame and my weight had to be 225lbs and small it would have been 208.

  9. I don't have to have a pre-op diet and I have been worried too about that. I was looking forward to eating all the things I wouldnt be able to anymore until i read that isnt a good ideal. I do think my doctor would have said something about a special diet before hand and you should call your doctor with those kinds of questions. I have been doing part shakes and some food just so I can start getting use to the diet changes. Plus, i'm afraid of having what others are calling a fatty liver, which is something i've never heard of before. So i'm doing half and half for now. If your doctor hasn't said anything i wouldnt worry about it.

  10. I use Doctor Korn and so far it's been good. he has a brisk bedside manner but is straightforward. His office staff refers to him as one of the best surgeons. when making an appointment plan on being there for a little longer than the appointment he tends to run late but he does make up for it by spending time answering all questions. he is upfront honest, confident and straightforward.
