6 Days Post Op

The quickest 6 days of my life have just flown by, where did they go? Monday will be a week since my surgery and back to work. I had an uneventful case. I know this because my friend was my CRNA that put me to sleep. I was in there an hour, received two incisions closed with steri strips and now I'm the proud owner of an 11cc Realize band. Woohoo!

I stayed overnight in the hospital per my Doc's instructions. Barium swallow the next day before discharge. It was cool to see my band and stomach on the screen. No real pain that I needed to medicate. Tender, bloated, trouble getting up and down but that is really all. Day 3 I took the Lortab elixir and felt on top of the world. Now it's just a cramp in my left side and some referred shoulder pain.

My post op instructions are liquid diet for two weeks and then pureed for two weeks. No real food until May 25th. My first f/u appt. is Tuesday and hopefully I'll find out about the first fill, etc.

18lbs down so far (8 of that the week before surgery) Let's hope it stays off in bandster hell.

I was banded on 04/16/2009 only to have surgery 7 days later with a hietal hernia. My exprience has not been the best. I am able to keep foods down and have been sampleing solid foods. I have an appointment this coming Wednesday. I lost 11 pounds the first surgery and 7 addtional since the second surgery. Wish me luck!
