1/21/09

Just swinging by to update my journal. I had my hysterectomy on 1/14/09 and I'm hoping it will cure the pain I was having.

Already, the horrible back pain is GONE.

I will post my 2 year band report when I recoup from the hysterectomy. I still hurt to sit, but for the most part I am feeling pretty good.

The Doctor has ordered me to do absolutely nothing for 2 weeks, and I have done nothing so far, but going a little stir crazy. But trying to follow the docs orders :tt1:.

I've been eating pretty good, hardly have an appetite and the band seems to have gotten a little tighter, it actually is perfect restriction right now, and I love it. Hopefully it will stay like this and I can lose some weight.

Well, gotta go, starting to hurt and I don't want that :cursing:

Personal question (feel free not to answer). If you had your hysterectomy vaginally (like I did) how does the pain compare to getting your LB? I'm thinking the LB will be worse with all those external incisions...but I've been wondering? Feel better!

The pain with LB is a little more tender in the stomach area, but it goes away within a week.

The hysterectomy has just worn me out, very tired. Even though I had it done vaginally, I still have stitches down there and they are very irritating. grrrr.

The small amount of pain I had with the LB surgery was well worth it. When is your surgery?

Thanks! Good to know LB isn't that bad. Yea, I never slept so much as when I had the hyster. done (all the drugs did that too--stay ahead with the pain meds, they help); I came home with the catheter still in, which was fun (my Mom came for a few days and she's a nurse). Hope you're feeling better soon; somewhere in the second week I suddenly turned the corner so hang in there.

LB won't be until late April or early May...I can't wait!

Congrats! A say everyone who is done having kids should have a hysterectomy. One of the best things I ever did! I hope you are feeling much better! The pain was bad enough I didn't think the post op pain was so bad.
