Donna's Journey

Today I am two days post-op and feeling much better than I did yesterday and the day before. My main problem has been the headaches. I don't know if it is from no caffeine or no food. The first day I came home from the hospital I felt terrible and was really out of it. I didn't read up on my instructions like I should have and tried to sip on a shake to keep from getting a headache. I shouldn't have done that and I shouldn't have crushed some Advil and taken it to make the headache go away. "Only Tylenol" I was told after that. Gee what else can I do wrong.

My mom stayed with me the first and second day and I finally told my sisters and cousin yesterday that I had the surgery. They were pretty angry with me for not telling them. I didn't know that it was actually going to happen until the day before due to some EKG and stress test issues that ended up being okay. At least the dr. said there should be no problems considering my health history. I still have a cardiologist appt. next Wednesday for my own peace of mind. I'm just glad to have the lap band surgery out of the way.

I'm looking so forward to this next year.
