Surgery done 7/21/08, should I be so uncomfortable, seem to have so much gas, what is good to help this? Nora,

Hi Nora,

Yes it is normal to be uncomfortable the first week or two. As far as the gas goes walk, walk and walk some more. I also used a heated pad for areas (like my shoulder ) where I had gas pains. Just don't put the heating pad on your incisions. Good luck and hang in there It gets better. I was banded July 11,2008. Soon to be skinny Grandma

I agree with "Skinny Grandma" - walk - walk - walk!!!! My gas pains were horrible and all through my left shoulder. Understand that they will come and go, but walking is the answer. Also, I still get those pains from eating, so you might get them later as well. Everyone is different. Good luck!!
