cough, cough, sneeze

I have a cold. I've been coughing up a lung. I can't help but wonder what a cold will be like with the band. I've read about pouches filling up with post nasal drip and coughing so hard it feels like its ripping the stitches of the port or possibly causing the band to slip. Cold medicine, will I be able to take whatever I need too?
