Crazy Hungry n not feeling full...? Anyone?

Yesterday, I was stark raving mad with hunger. I could not stop eating. Has this happened to anyone else? I actually bought a salad from outback steakhouse at lunch assuming I would only be able to eat a couple of pieces of lettuce or cucumber. I was completely wrong-- I scarfed the entire thing With no feeling of restriction. I do not understand how this works. I do not understand how I can eat an entire salad-- a house salad-- and not be full!! By the end of the day I just gave up and consumed over 2500 cal. On a normal day I eat between 850 to 1000 calories with low-carb and high-protein as my focus. Today, I do not feel particularly hungry, and I feel restricted. How is this possible? Has anyone else experienced the same thing? I would love to hear your feedback. Thank you.

I had my surgery on Nov 13 , 2012 and only in the last 3 months or so , I have had the same feeling as you . Now that i can tolarate more food , I also find myself eating more, craving sweets and when I am moody craving salty stuff like cashews . I have lost about 57 lbs , and happy about it .... but for about 2 months the scale has not moved an inch, holding at 180 lbs. and at this point I am getting worried.

I actually had my stomach growl last week......My surgery was Nov. 12, 2012. I still have problems getting some food down, but one night I just wanted to eat and eat. I just made sure that I was eating protein and veggies. When I want something to crunch on, I eat dill pickles. My PA had me increase the amount of protein I was eating instead of being at 60 grams.

Good luck with this...

Certain foods over little restriction......practice protein first. I get full quickly when doing this. I have seen some members post salad is a slider good for them.

You may want to take a PPI (prilosec, nexium, ect). Salads don't really do anything to me, I don't feel full so I any eat a couple of bites. Besides the dressing is high in calories. Eat protein first to fill up....that's my golden rule always.....it does help......

I'm only a month out but sometimes I can eat like 6-7ozs of something and then the next meal I am full to the brim after 3 ozs. I also notice that some days I am very aware of when my stomach is empty (what I call hungry) and other days I have to remind myself eat because I don't even notice my stomach. I think that the slower I eat the more I can consume and if I eat fast I fill up faster and stay full longer, although it is an uncomfortable full feeling. Anyway, I don't know why it is so day to day for all of us but I don't think you are alone!
