I Had Surgery 2 Days Ago

I am two days post op. And just wondering if I made the right decision. My stomach is very sore, and have been feeling hungry today. To top it off, I keep burping. My husband has been wonderful! He has been helping me with out three kids. I think just right how, I feel like I will alwasy have an upset tummy. And all I have been doing is laying around the house. Has anyone else felt like this right out of surgery?

as of tomorrow im one week out and today is the first day i have really been able to get up and around for more than 10 minutes. whenever i drink things, i still get the bubbly feeling and tend to burp when i take in a lot of air when i swallow....i think that is something that should start to go away after a while.....i realy have to be aware of how big my drinks are. the smaller i take, the better they go down and then less bubbly, gassy feelings

I'm 10 days out and it does get better. I still find myself with the bubbly feeling at times. I still feel hungry at times but not very often.

Hang in there jar312. I haven't had surgery yet but I've read a lot of post surgery posts. It seems like the first day after surgery is worse for pain. The burping as merritt60 indicated will go away over time. It seems like you are experiencing is typical of posts so be encouraged that better days are coming. Wonderful your hubby is supportive of this journey for you. Keep us posted.....feel better.

It will all get better. I felt the exact same way after my surgery, questioning whether I made a mistake being sleeved but everything you are feeling will go away.

Six weeks out and I can not even remember the discomfort of days 1-7. But I sure love the new me and I see that guy every minute of every day. Hang in there. It will get better and you will soon see a new you. And then you too will not even remember what seems like such discomfort now.

I am just shy of 3 weeks out. First week I wondered what the heck I did. Then the next week I still questioned myself. But it is so true that everyday gets better. One week ago I still couldn't drive because of the discomfort and today I just drove 9 hours home from visiting my parents. Just remember to take one day at a time. We have all done the right thing for our lives. We are becoming healthier and making smarter decisions with food. Remember, One day at a time.

I'm 11 days out, it gets better every day. Be careful when you drink to not take in air, I discovered I did that alot before surgery. The bubbly feeling still comes every once in a while, you have to remember you stomach has to heal. My suggestion would be to get up and walk around, outside if possible, to get your mind off it. Every day it will get better, I'm down 10 lbs and feeling good. You can do it too.

I am 14 days post op and I also felt crappy the first week mainly because of the air in my stomach. Since I have breathing issues, i stayed an extra day in the hospital. I never really had pain but was hugely uncomfortable. However, once i was moving around well the old bod got the engine running and the gas left. I do still burp but not as much. I have to say that I personally feel better than I have in two years and I am looking forward to it only getting better so hang in there!
