Day 7 Post-op

Today I woke up feeling pretty good. I still cannot really drink anything but "clear liquids". I decided I was feeling well enough to take a trip to Walmart with my sister so we could get something crafty to do because laying around all day gets pretty boring. My sister told me that I should use a riding cart, but I didn't want to because to me they are embarrassing, especially since we live in such a small rural town where everyone knows everyone. Well, I guess I should've listened because about half way through I was sweating and weak and had to get her to go get me a wheel chair... she pushed me the rest of the way (because I couldn't bring myself to use the riding cart... I don't know why I have such a thing about those... they just freak me out. lol) That seemed to help me a lot.

I bought some vitamin water and tomato soup to try. I don't know how well the soup will do, but I wanted to try something a little different. Right now though, I am still having some terrible gas pain... so I don't know if I'll get to try it or not.

Does this gas ever go away?? confused5.gif I sure hope so... it's so not pleasant.

On the bright side... I seem to keep losing about 2 pounds everyday for the past 3 days!! I am down 25 pnds since pre-op!!purplebananna.gif Woot Woot! Can someone welcome me to the loser's bench... I think I'm on it! lol

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays everyone!!

Hugs!

Rachel :)

Congrats on the weightloss. I've been up and moving around since I got back from Mexico. I'm going back to work tomorrow (I have a desk job). I also have annoying gas pains. Today at church I forgot all about my sleeve and took part in communion. Luckily I didn't have a problem with sleevie.

Just keep up the good work and stay hydrated.

Yes, I have had problems with diarreah... I didn't know if it was normal or not. I may ask the doctor about it just to be sure. Also, I couln't get much of the soup down, just a couple of tiny bites. I don't know if it'll do to well or not. Good luck with your healing!

Congratulations....you r on a terrific road. I had my surgery almost 6 months ago.....down 104# this morning. A good thing for your gas pain.....heating pad! It has become my best friend. Since losing the body fat, I am cold more and snuggle with it often. I ate alot of popcicles, course with it being winter, it could make you cold. Just make sure you are getting lots and lots of protein, because by 3months out you will start noticing a little hair lose. Lots and lots of shakes. My only problem is I'm 20-30# away from goal and I added some carbs and I keep losing. I want to know how to stop. As for anyone with the loose bowel syndrome..........yogurt! Greek is the best it has more protein. Good Luck everyone and Merry Christmas!

Congrats on your weight loss. I soooo know how you are feeling. My first 2 weeks were so so, After the gas subsided I was able to start resuming my daily activities. My best advice to you is "go slow". You might feel good one day and blah the next. Remember, you had surgery not that long ago and your body is still mending. Keep us informed how your doing and again congrats!!
