How much can you eat??

Hello Everyone! I was curious as to how much everyone can eat after the band. I was just wondering if I go out to eat with family and friends, what will it be like? I picture myself eating small portions, obviously, but just wondered if this was uncomfortable for anyone? ~~ To be banded sometime after Christmas

When my band is adjusted properly I eat a little bit of everything I like and no one really notices. I throw away food if I add too much to my plate. I try to stay away from foods that may not agree with my band but sometimes I still get stuck out in public.

I eat out all the time and eat from the kid's menu a lot. I also will order a small salad and for $4-$7. extra add a protein, like chicken, shrimp or salmon. I do that one a real lot and love it.

So far no has said anything to me for eating small portions, which I like.

uncomfortable as in bringing attention to yourself? If yes, not to worry. No one cares what you are eating...they only care about what they are eating. I eat out a lot with friends and family some of whom know I am banded, and some who do not. No one has ever said a word.....and I always have the old standby ready....'oh I'm just not that hungry'.

Eating out was more difficult for me in the early days but much easier now. It really is not about how much you can eat as much as how much you should eat and what your choices are. In my early weight loss days I was very OCD about what I could or should eat vs what was avalible to eat. I always make sure I eat at places that serve food that is actually cooked and not processed foods. Staying away from fast food is key to nutritious food choices. I never made a big deal over not being able to finish my food, I order off the appetizer menu usually or share with someone.. I have had my share of stuck episodes eating out but usually they were due to me not following rules, eating to fast, not chewing, etc. Learn to enjoy your new eating habits and start thinking more about eating healthy than what you can't eat and than it becomes more natural.Good luck in your journey.
