shocked at the changes

I am 5 months out from my lab band surgery and have lost almost 30 pounds. I have gone from a size 18 to a snug 14:) The biggest shock was my feet!!!! I went from a size 8 shoe to a size 7 LOL!! I still have 25 pounds to go but I am proud of the fact that I am doing this for the first time in my life and thankful for my friend the lap band that lets me know its time to stop eating or hey, you have had enough. I have taken a small stepper to work and use is all the time as well as my co- workers and can tell a huge difference in my bottom half :) My only problem would be that when I look in the mirror I don't see the wght loss. I still see same old me. My clothes are baggy so I know its working. Have to thank you all for your posts and encouragement along the way so far. This is just the begining to a new me that I actually like :)

You are giving me hope. My shoe size went from a size 10 to an 11. A size 11 foot is a nightmare because it is impossible to get shoes. I hope when I lose weight I will be back in my tens.

My size 12 never changed. Just the width. A size 10 can be bought anywhere, you are very lucky!

I am down about 75 pounds and still see the fat me. Yesterday I put on my new size 14 jeans, thin looking and a size xl 't' and thought I looked good.

Today I have on my Red Sox "t' and it fits over the fat ass and large hips, never did and I have worn it for years above the hip area, great feeling.

I don't know when we see the thinner us. Don't give up, almost swim suit season.

One day guys you really will see the thinner you, it takes time to change the image in our mind even after we lose the weight. But you all are doing awesome!

I didn't see the weight loss progress until a friend of mine put some side by side pics together for me. Then I was floored. Not because of how much smaller I looked but because how much bigger I was. For me, I didn't think I was as BIG as I was. Our mind has to catch up. I feel more myself at this size than I ever did being bigger!
