Starting Over

Had the surgery back in 2008 was somewhat successful, but about 2yrs ago I lost my way and now I am trying to find my way back. Have been thinking about having the band removed but I rather try to start over again if that is even possible. Have anyone else gone through this and if so what helped you to get back on track?

i too have recently re-comitted to my band. i was banded in 2004 and stayed on track for about a year and a half.... then life got busy, and i got lazy!! i stil mananged to have some restriction and was able to continue to sloooooowly loose weight, althought i never went back to my dr or had any more adjustments, so 7 years later - i have lost a total of 55 lbs, but have another 65 to go..... so i re-comitted, followed up w/my dr and will do so monthly to stay on track. i have a 10 cc band, which only had 2.2 cc in it for the past 7 yrs. i recently had a tiny unfill ( 0.3 ) because i was still pb'ing. now.... i can eat ANYTHING and i'm scared to death...to gain any weight back...so....i'm going in this coming tuesday for an adjustment. congrats on your starting over .... sometimes i feel like i start over .... everyday!!!! thanks for sharing

Had my surgery in 2008 also. Lost 140lbs in one year, after two years began having problems. had an unfill, then began refilling, had flouroscopic fills too. Just can not get it right again. I have gained back 70lbs. Problem is, I eat a small amount have discomfort, but not satisfied. Wait a few minutes them as much as I want goes in. Sometimes I resort to junk food. Initially, after eating a small amount I felt satisfied. How do you get to that place again?

Momof4girls: just scheduled an appointment to see the doctor on Monday. like you I am scared to death of gaining what little weight I lost. Already I can tell the difference in the weight I have gained back. Hard to walk long distance, sleepless nights and craving the joy of junk food:). So for all of us who have lost our way, the first step is to go see the doctor and take it one step at a time. thank you and joeonthegulf for sharing.
