Discouraged

I had my first fill last week,I believe it was 4cc.

I felt fine after,no issues holding down drinks and assumed I would feel some restriction when I started back on food.

Not only do I feel no restriction at all, suddenly the full feeling I had before is not lasting long.

I am scared that I am going to start gaining what I lost so far.

Should I call the Doctor and let them know or do I just wait it out?

Has this happened to anyone?

When in doubt-call the doctor. This has not happened to me. The doctors are there with all the answers even on weekends.

Good luck.

you didn't say you were from the Boston area. So of course it will be hard to get a doctor to talk to this weekend but then they may be on call. Be safe in this storm. I live south shore, Randolph.

It can take a few fills before you do feel the restriction you need. Most ppl experience a little swelling around the band after being filled. Thats the reason my Dr has me on liquids after a fill.

Did you make another appt for another fill while you were there?

My Dr makes me wait 4wks between fills.

I was banded Oct 15,2012 had my first fill of 3cc at 6wks and then was scheduled for another fill 4wks later, but something came up and I just had 2nd fill 2 1/2 wks ago of 1.5cc, 3rd fill scheduled for Feb28. Hoping to have restriction after that fill.

Best Wishes

What you're going through is normal. It takes most people multiple fills to have adequate fluid in their bands. Just keep counting calories and be patient, it will come.

Relax, it takes some of us months to finally get restriction. Like Missy said, it's normal. It sucks, but it's normal. Took me 4 months to finally get enough restriction to start losing weight. It will come, just be patient and follow your Drs orders.
