Scrub Up...its About That Time!!!

The time is getting closer ever time I glance at the clock!! I can't believe 8 months ago I sat in a seminar thinking I would get this surgery done without a problem. 8 months later and 3rd letter from insurance I am finally at the OR's door steps (or close enough). I am going in for surgery on Tuesday April 24th (not to mention I am down 17 lbs). My big fears: gas pain...I told my doctor "as little gas as possible" lol another fear is praying my liver is small enough. After 10 days on a liquid diet and only "cheating" twice on day 2 and 6, I have my fingers crossed! Other then that I know I will miss a few things. Gorging myself with sweet and sour chicken and greens. I love every veg that is green (minus brusel sprouts...gag) But other then that I have came to terms and am really proud of myself for coming this far! Wish me luck and pray for "the girl named Woodie"!! Thanks :P

LAP-BAND Patients

bless your heart, girl I was there too; the ins denied me 3 times and then on the 4th try I had my Rhumetologist call them saying I had fibromyalgia and sure enough i was approved the very next day and my surgery was june 30th 2011. as for pain, I wish I could tell you it didnt hurt...sorry...right when I came too in the recovery room it sucked ass, it hurt so freaking bad I cried. however oddly enough the pain didnt last that long (5-10 min) and it was like nothing happened. lol...girl my point is dont think about the pain, think about the future you will have being smaller. also as for cheating, I did aswell. the only way you wouldnt have it is if you cheated everyday. you will be fine! if you need anything let me know, Ill do my best to walk you through :)

LAP-BAND Patients

I just had my surgery last week and the gas pain was weird. It hurt but it wasn't there all the time and a heating pad kicked the pain to the curb. I was a bit skeptical, but now at day 6 I'm feeling better and better. You will be fine, just plan for your recuperation and rest. It really does help. Good luck Woodie!

As far as gas pain goes, I don't recall any post-op. The worse time after the banding was immediately afterwards and persisted up until the following day. Now, 4 years later I have only experienced one bit of gas problems and that was a few years back. I wouldn't worry about the minor cheating, I'm sure you will be fine... congratulations and good luck on your new journey!
