hi. each doctor does the pre op diet differently, for me, i had to have one shake in the morning, for lunch i had 2 cups of salad greens, with 3 oz of lean protein, and veggies, then for mid afternoon snack another protein shake, for supper i was told i could get a lean cousine frozen meal that had no more than 300 calories, with at least 14g of protein, and before bedtime i had another shake. i promise you, i was never hungry. the reason for this diet is to shrink your liver size, so they can access the area where the band goes easier. good luck. today i am 4 days post op.

Yes you can have hard candy in moderation, sugar free of course.Pre diet is tuff, probably the tuffest of this journey. If you are on liquids make sure you are drinking the shakes, protein keeps you from being hungry. Hang in there, the light is at the end of the tunnel and it will get better.

day 3 and 4 was the hardest for me. I am on day 12 and I'm not allowed to have anything other than shakes, popsicles, jello (all sugar free of course) and broth. After day 4 it did get a little easier until this weekend. I have never been so happy to be back to work until today!

But you can do this! I took Diane advice and used pictures to motivate me. I look at pictures of myself everytime I feel myself get weak and it really motivates me....along with all the support you will find here!

GOOD LUCK AND KEEP US POSTED!
