June 23

Been almost three weeks since I was banded. Still feel great. Talked to another bandster last night at church. She is 1 1/2 years out and she is still not at goal. I don't know whether to be anxious about the future or not. The other thing is my first fill coming up on the 5th of July. I don't like needles. Now I'm learning that Fills involve more needles than I originally thought. Makes me a little scared. I think I have done well diet wise today. Fixed ribs and french fries for hubby. I did eat the meat off several ribs. Probably blew my carb count with the sauce but I only ate 4 french fries and there was a time I would have made sure there was nothing left. Clothes fit different, better but the scales don't show any weight loss. The belching is still a problem. I do it a lot, big burps too. Farts are pretty spectacular too. Afraid either one might happen at a most embarassing time. Have to deal with that if the time ever comes. I think it would embarass hubby more that me.

LAP-BAND Patients

I was banded in Nov of 08. Fills aren't that bad. You'll get used to them. I hear ya about the gas. Try taking the product BEANO everyday. It might help with the gas. I also kept a supply of the GAS-X strips in my purse and took them before meals when I was out at restaurants. I have conquered the problem through trial and error. Every issue related to your lapband will pretty much be solved through trial and error. Good luck to you!

LAP-BAND Patients

Fills aren't bad at all. I was banded 13 months ago and still belch and hiccup when I am full. If I am hungry you can hear the most embarrassing gurgling in my stomach and unfortunately everyone around can hear it as well. It sucks when it happens in a meeting. YIKES!!

Weight loss for the band can take 3 years to get to goal. Don't expect too much too soon. It may or may not happen fast. Everyone is different.

It is so true that it is trial and error. More error than anything since some things that worked for me no longer do. It is ever changing.
