Surgery Date Scedule

Today after 3 months of herassing my primary, I have finally scheduled a date for surgery June 16. I am 24 days away from my new beginning. I am currently 22 years old and have been overweight my entire life. When I was 17 years old I had lost 75 lbs by following the atkins diet and ultimately when i reached what I thought was a great weight my docter told me I was 11 lbs overweight still. This is when the weight started coming back. I have always told myself I am ok with being overweight but this is the end. I am going to lose the weight and keep it off and not allow any1 to discourage me.

I know this will once again be a struggle and will continue through my entire life, but I am ready to fight back against obesity.. I know this is going to be a long journey but I am ready to face my fears.

24 more days until surgery and nothing will hold me back. This is not a quick fix but an aid to be who I want to be.

Time to look in the mirror and see the beauty of me!

Every1 just remember, you can do it if you put your mind to it.

LAP-BAND Patients

Hey there. I saw this blog and just had to comment. I'm 22 also and have pretty much been overweight my entire life. Always, always, always the biggest one in my class. I lost about 40 lbs with the Quick Weight Loss Diet and just lost momentum w/ it. This is definitely not a quick fix, but it will help with cravings and everything. I'm currently 6 days post-op (banded May 18). The first few days are rough, but I'm almost back to normal today. I definitely want to keep in touch - maybe we can support each other through this bumpy, yet fun, adventure.

I am 22 as well and like you and more2love, i have also been overweight my entire life. my junior and senior year of high school i got down to about 150 bbut for all the wrong reasons. im now bigger than ive ever been and i am getting banded on june 10th, and i still am in shock that this is finally happening. i have had so many mixed emotions about the whole thing. the only people that know are my parents (who are the BEST because they are paying for everything and are totally supporting me through this) and one good friend who is also hoping to get the lapband. my best friends dont know, my own brother doesnt even know! i dont know why i am so secretive about it but as of now its kind of embarressing for me. i just cant imagine how different my life is going to be and i am so looking forward to it. i want to do the things that normal 22 year olds get to do! i want to lay out and drink margaritas, go ride roller coasters, freaking FLY somewhere without the anxiety of be stuffed in a seat for hours, go out to resturants without googling them first to see if the chairs are itty bitty with arms that my fat butt has to squeeze in, to go shopping at normal stores, to no longer be just the girl with the pretty face! people who arent overweight will just never understand all the extra anxietys and challenges we go through, and im ready to put them all in my past! id love to keep in touch with you guys!
