I need this forum so much!

Although I am happy with the amount of weight I have lost since being banded 4 months ago, deep down I don't think I believe I will ever get to my goal weight. I know this is wrong, negative and self defeating. I have been overweight for almost 20 years now and during that time I have lost a significant amount of weight once or twice but I was never even close to my goal weight. I guess I'm expecting these results again?

I love coming on these boards to read success stories. It gives me encougargement and hope.

Does anyone else share my demon thoughts?

:scared2:

Of course....I do!! I have only been banded for 1 1/2 months and have lost weight. I sometimes feel like the devil is on one shoulder and an angel is on the other. I guess that is just part of the process. Keep up your good work and we will all encourage each other!!

Every second of every day. Ok, maybe not that much, but A LOT. Its hard sometimes to stop and give yourself a pat on the back for how far you've come. Think about how you feel, how your clothes fit, the compliments you get. I try (and its hard, believe me) to forget where I HAVE to go or how far I have to get there. I'm trying to live more in the moment? Best wishes to you, and big hugs!!!

I think we all do. Although there are some days when I think - yeah, I've got this, no problem . . .but of course other days when, just like you, I think - can this keep going? Will I get where I'm wanting to go? And you are right, this site is a God send - you're all so helpful!! So let's hold each other up when we need it and rejoice with each other over every victory! Go us!!

I have had those same feelings, and I still battle them from time to time. I make them go away a little deeper each time I try on something I have not worn in years and it fits, or when I look at a picture of me and I like what I see. Like Sandra said, give yourself a pat on the back at how great you have done and keep the positive thoughts and actions going and you WILL get there!!!!!
