Finally did it!

I was banded on yesterday. I have been wanting to do this for a long time now. I am home now and very sore. I'm not very hungry but feel like I should be eating. When I do drink my few ounces I get full really quick. I feel as though there's a knife stuck in my upper back. I'm assuming it's gas. Any suggestions...

I don't have any suggestions - not being banded yet myself - but I just wanted to say congratulations on making the first step in your weight-loss journey!

Oh, and it most likely is gas, it seems like it can settle pretty much anywhere, I'm sure people have good advice in the forum as to what to do about the pain.

Walk, Walk, WALK!!!! It really helps with the gas. Be careful though b/c I felt like I had a stabbing pain in my chest & back & had pneumonia right after sugery.

Good luck & call your doc for everything. It'w what they get paid for.

My back and shoulder hurt the most as far as the gas pain was concerned. I am pretty much rid of the gas pain; however, it does resurface a bit every now and then. It really does help to walk and move around. Best wishes to you.

Congrats!! I had a lot of upper back pain after my surgery.. I asked my DR this week if that is gas pain... he asked me if it was my upper back. I told him yes then he said it's not gas pain that I am actually feeling the band around my stomach. He said it will ease up each day... it has gone away but sometimes when I am very full from eating then I feel it in my upper back.

Good luck with your recovery!!
