2 week Pre-op Liquid diet

I am currently on my 2 week pre-op liquid diet, but I must admit it's terrible. Has anyone cheated on their pre-op diet? I admit I have. But I cheated with a salad. I am taking meds and I forgot to tell them I have to take it with food. That's the reason why I've been feeling so sick. smh Any comments...please post.

I actually did a shake 2 x a day and ate 1 small meal 9MOSTLY PROTEIN till 2 days before surgery. Than I did cl liq x 2 days. It seemed to work OK. Now I am on my 1st wk liq post op and am looking forward to adding more this next wk.

It is hard! i, too, have 2 protein shakes per day, and a small meal, packed with protein and little carbs, for dinner. Keep strong and just say, "another day down". I'm almost done with day 4 and can't WAIT have a bite of something other than chicken and steamed veggies (although, after protein shakes all day, they taste like heaven!)

You guys are so lucky, I am not supposed to have anything but the shakes, jello and chicken broth. I told the assistant that I had a boiled egg last night, and she was really ugly too me, said I wasn't committed, I have lost 8 1/2 lbs in 5 day, I don't think that is so bad.

I am on my pre op liquid diet as well. I am worried cause I had potatoe soup last night and it had bits of potatoe in it. They were smaller than a pea but still they were there. How long does it take to get out of your system? Will they be able to tell I had any? Oh my gosh this is hard!!

:eek I'm 7months post op..Ummm I didnt really keep to the 2 weeks pre-op..I did keep it light and sub my breakfeast with a shake..but for my last meal before surg I had a very nice meal!!:) being that I stuck to the no eating 12hr prior to surg.good thing I ate my surg was pushed back two more hr then scheduled :).But after the surg I went by the book and stuck too the plan to the "T". I'm now down 76lbs..and have good restriction.I think the two weeks pre-op is for you to adjust to your meal change so it doesn't come too you as a shock.Soooo, not saying the way I went about it was the right way, but I don't regret it.So be your own judge..Best of luck to you all..
