Contraception??

I was just wondering whether the contraceptive pill is still effective whilst on the gastric band im currently 14 post-op and been taking it from day 1 but find that im getting spotting in between, and i never did so i am a tad confused??? anyone know??

I actually had some bad spotting issues the first few months after surgery. (I'm on the 3-month cycle pill.) But it has been 7 months now and I have had no issues in quite a while. I think the surgery messes with it, but it evens out.

Just guessing, maybe the pills are to strong since you have lost weight.

Thanks ladies!! means alot, i spoke to my surgeon and he says the pill still works and that it is a important issue to discuss, because with just a 19 pound weightloss our fertility increases hugely, and its important not to get pregant in the year after surgery.
