Too Lap Band or Not.

A very big part of me would love to get the lap band. By no means do I think it would be an easy road or a quick fix to my fat.

But then I feel like I am give up on my self if I do get the lap band. Why can't I just lose the dam weight? What is wrong with me? But I really, really, really no that it would help me get to my goal give me back my life.. Ohhh man what to do.. I will go to a lap band seminar next wed. To get more info.. Did any one feel like they where giving up??? :)

I too felt like "surgey is the last thing in the world I would EVER do to loose weight!!!" but then i found out that to be fat is even MORE deadly than smoking!!!

I thought about all of the stuff my extra pounds were holding me back from doing....then i realized that my eating is a disorder, an addiction...if they made a band for smokers, drinkers or drugsters, I bet they'd be standing in-line....

After i did finally have the surgery, I discovered that this is NOT an easy fix! by no means did i "give up"!!! if anything, I am working harder at weight loss!!! trust me!!!

BTW- I had my doubts even as they were rolling me down the hall to the O.R. and even as the "sleepy needle" was going in!!

I AM 100% GLAD I DID IT!!!

Thank you.

Everyone always so happy about it. I guess that is what they are happy. I am just at the point of trying to make sure this is something I wont to do. I do not wont to look back and say why did I do this. And I do not wont to look back and say why did I wait so long to do this. Being 5'1 and 224LB I am so ready to live.

I am 5'2 and weighed more than you. I had my surgery June 29, 2009 and it is a little over one year. Best thing I ever did for myself. Hands down, Food down THE BEST!! I have lost 110 pounds and I am happy, healthy and skinny YES I said skinny NOW. You can do this and it has saved my life.

I did say HAPPY, HEALTHY AND SKINNY. Best wishes on your journey. imaluckydog

I completely feel you. I felt the same way! Then I got LB and I'm on my way down (very happily I might add!)

It is different for everyone, but I couldn't do it as I was. Now I can!

Good luck to you!

Giving up = staying obese. Having the courage to keep looking for a solution no matter where the solution lies, can never be called giving up.
