Recovery time??

It all depends on the person and the job! You shouldn't plan to do any heavy lifting, and if you get tired you need to be able to rest a little.

I took longer, but mostly because I have a very long commute to work (94 miles roundtrip) and I had time coming to me so I took it.

I was up 2 hours after my operation and I flew from the UK back to Ireland a day after my operation. I would have been fine to work, however due to the fact that you are on the liquid diet post op your energy levels can be low so you may want to take some protein shakes and vitamins to build yourself back up. I was back with my personal trainer 3 weeks after my op doing cardio but no weights for 5 weeks after

Everyone is different. I took two weeks and am really glad I did. I thought I could go back after one week off - and I think if I had to I could have, but the second week really gave me time to recoup and build back my strength. My job is at a computer and sitting was a little uncomfortable - I am in my 4th week post op and still having a little "discomfort" (not pain) at my port site. I was banded on a Wednesday and was driving that Monday. I went back to work Thursday of the following week. No problems. It all depends on what you do. I sit at a desk all day. I was a little sore but fine.

i was banded on a Tue and rtnd to work the following Monday (6 days). No heavy lifting and nothing overly physical but i was able to walk, talk and function (smile). I didnt start exercizing until about 3 weeks after surgery and i started very lightly.
