Having Surgery Tuesday

I am having surgery tuesday , I am shocked I got the approval so quickly after having lots of trouble with the Insurance all this time . But I am happy:w00t: . The pre op diet has been really difficult..The nurse said shakes shakes and more shakes she also mention a atkins diet too so I mixed it up!!! and I have lost 10 pounds as of today.. Does anyone think this is okay? I would like some help deciding if i should do all liquids the last five days....

LAP-BAND Patients

stay on liquids as much as possible...You don't want the surgeons telling at the last minute that they won't do the surgery because all of the foods that's in your system...I knew a patient that was turned away on surgery date because she was eating foods on a regular...If you get hungry...Try sugar free applessauce, sugar free pudding...things that won't stick in your system.....GOOD LUCK...I HAD MY LAP BAND SURGERY ON 3-25-10..AND SO FAR I LOST 30LBS. I AM STILL EXCITED AND MOTIVATED....GOOD LUCK...YOU CAN DO IT...WE ALL CAN IF WE PUT OUR MINDS TO IT.

I have not started my pre op yet I start on the 14th but My Dr has given me the adkins diet menu and told me to do that for 2 weeks also. But I am going to try to do 2 shakes a day and adkins meal for dinner. every blog i have read i see that every one is on the liquid diet. So hopefully if i do it that way i will be good come surgery day. Good luck to you.
