Anyone have surgery recently

I just had surgery on 12/18 and was looking to check in with others who may have had surgery recently. Just want to see how you are doing and provide each other support.

I seem to doing ok. I am not feeling too hungry in the second week, however I was feeling hungry during the first week. The only trouble I seem to be having is getting in all the protein shakes. I am tired of drinking them, no matter how much I try to doctor them up. Anyone have any advice.

Hi, I had my surgery 12/21. Was really sore the fisrt couple of days. I didn't get hungry at all last week. Today, I tried to go back to work and was really weak. I am trying to figure out how to get my energy level back.

Hello, I had surgery Nov 24th and had my first fill on 12/24. I felt great right after my surgery, was a little sore. But nothing I couldn't handle. My gull bladder surgery was worse. I find that I that my appetite has come back. So it is a struggle for me to not eat. However, the protien shakes help a lot. My other challenge is to chew my food. I believe it comes with time. But all in all I am happy that I did it.

Was banded yesterday, Very sore today but so far I am doing better than I expected. Just concerned that I can not get any nutrients in me but guess that is ok for now.

I had my surgery on the 17th and am doing pretty good. I have an apt w/my doctor on Jan 8th and am unsure if I'll get a fill then. I was told to begin working in "regular" foods back into my diet on day 5 post-op so I've been eating for the past week. I'm pretty much sticking to soft foods but have been able to get my protein in. When did your doctor say that you could begin eating again? I'm curious because I seem to be eating sooner than most folks. My meals are approx 1/3 cup to 1/2 cup but I love that I'm not on a liquid diet.

Take care and let me know how you are doing. :Dancing_wub:

Hi! I had my surgery 12/17 and then rebanded 12/20. I am back to eating pretty normal foods. I felt restriction or the first week and a half or so but I am very hungry now. I get my first fill on 1/14 so hopefuly that will help with the hunger.

Good luck to all of you and keep me posted.
