This whole thing has been so tough for me, a major decision that wasn't made lightly.  I started thinking about having this surgery done after the birth of my 3rd baby.  My health was poor before, but after went down hill.  Honestly it wasn't until after I was formally diagnosed with Lupus that I realized this was a do or die situation.  My weight has always been off the charts, since I was 4 and had tests done for a slow metabolism :P  I have 3 sibling who were all within the healthy weight range, and parents who were as well.  me?  I've always been heavy, every since I can remember.  Had my fist baby at 19, then 2nd at 23, then my third at 31.  The medical side of it?  Thyroid issues, Fibro myalgia, Psoriatic Arthritis, anemia, all kinds of deficiencies, sleep apnea, all kinds of doctors and no help.  Diets of every type, no success.
So ... then we move to the Seattle area, from near Toronto Canada.  Within 2 months, Im seeing specialists that are helping, everyone wants to see success.  Eventually I see a Rheumatologist, who, after further testing and consults, says Lupus, and starts meds.  He also says they can do what they can do, but my weight is going to be a huge issue.  So... I see Dr. Nguyen, with Overlake Hospital, not the best bed side manner, rather rude really, but..  surgery was done in August of last year (2014)
Since then, aside from kidney stones, and further Lupus related issues, things have really changed.  I can walk, I can go outside with my girls, do groceries, clean my house, participate in life!  My pain levels aren't always fun, and its an on going thing, but I know it will be.  So... the numbers?  My weight... well from my highest weight until last I was weighed.. Ive lost 251 lbs, from pre surgery weight 189 lbs.  So a lot has changed for sure.
I found this place through a person I follow on Instagram honestly, she'd mentioned it.  So I thought, maybe there will be some support here for me?  Maybe I can be open about all the changes, and things I face here, and people will get it.  Heres hoping :)
