I have weighed any where from 250 to 275 for years now. I am alone and have some moral support but no one there day in and day out.

A friend of mine had the gastric bypass but that is not why I did it but it helped. i found myself making fun of myself. Saying things like 'well, how else do you think I maintain this body"? And always making fun of myself.

And one day a light bulb went off, I called my local surgeon and everything up until the surgery was relatively easy for me. From getting approval, meeting with psychiatrist, to meeting my goals every month with the nutrionist & support groups before I get approved for the surgery.

My surgery was Feb. 9th, 2015. Don't regret a minute of it.

I do have to tell you though, the only person who knew I was doing this was my friend up until two weeks before the surgery. I didn't want to hear any of the negative and I had to make sure I was ok with this process mentally, physically and spiritually.

I have heard 95% good for you for taking control of your life to the 5% who said oh that's interesting.

I am now down 16 pounds from my one week check up after surgery. I am not going to weigh myself until my six week check up. I want to focus on how I feel, not a number.
